Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. Usage instructions
Access the AWS Console Sign in to your AWS Management Console using your AWS account credentials. From the Services menu, navigate to the EC2 service to begin the instance launch process.
Create an EC2 Instance from the AMI In the EC2 dashboard, open the Instances section and click Launch Instance. When prompted to choose an image, switch to the My AMIs section and select the WordPress AMI you have subscribed to.
Configure Instance Options Select an appropriate instance type based on your workload (for example, a small instance for testing purposes). Configure networking options such as VPC, subnet, and public IP assignment according to your environment. Adjust storage capacity if needed and optionally assign tags to help identify the instance. Ensure that the selected security group allows inbound traffic on ports 80 (HTTP) and 443 (HTTPS).
Launch and Connect to the Instance Review the configuration and proceed with launching the instance. Choose an existing SSH key pair or create a new one to enable secure access. Once the instance is running, note the assigned Public IPv4 address from the EC2 console.
SSH Access (Optional) If SSH access is required, connect using your preferred SSH client. From a terminal, use the following command and confirm the connection when prompted: ssh ubuntu@<public-ip-address>
Access WordPress Open a web browser and enter the public IP address of the instance in the address bar. The WordPress setup page will load automatically. Follow the on-screen steps to complete the WordPress installation and begin using your site.
