Dimensions summary
This contract splits pricing into three separate dimensions that you buy together. Capacity (TB) charges for the provisioned storage you set aside, measured per TiB. Performance (TB) charges for throughput, measured per GB/sec, so you pay for speed apart from storage size. Silk Subscription (TB) covers the software subscription itself. This structure decouples performance from capacity, letting you size each independently instead of buying peak storage tiers to guarantee throughput. Your total scales with how much capacity, how much performance, and how large a subscription you provision.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
You pay for provisioned storage set aside for your workloads, measured per TiB. This reflects the usable capacity you reserve. Built-in data reduction features like compression, inline deduplication, thin provisioning, and zero elimination help lower the capacity you need to provision.
All three dimensions bill together on the same contract. Capacity charges for provisioned storage per TiB. Performance charges for throughput per GB/sec, separate from storage size. Silk Subscription covers the software license. Because performance is decoupled from capacity, you size each independently instead of buying premium tiers to guarantee speed.
