    Amazon Machine Image (AMI)

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

    Version release notes

This major release includes an update from Ubuntu 20.04 to Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, as well as the integration of Visual Studio Code as the main code editor. Furthermore, NodeJS, along with its packages, and the installed browser have been updated to their most recent versions. As always, we're keen to hear from you. Usage instructions

For a complete set of instructions and tips, visit the Silver Lining Cloud Documentation at https://www.silverlining.cloud/docs/aws/puppeteer-ubuntu-gui

To access your system, the username is 'ubuntu', and the password for RDP and VNC is your EC2 Instance ID, such as 'i-0a85cdce733efbb08'.

For remote access, you have two options: If you prefer using Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP), start the Remote Desktop Connection on your local device and connect using the public IP address of your instance, with 'ubuntu' as the username and your EC2 Instance ID as the password. Alternatively, for a Virtual Network Computing (VNC) connection, launch a VNC client on your local device, connect to your instance's public IP address on port 5901, and use your instance ID as the password. When connecting with Windows Remote Desktop Connection, go to "More Options" and select "Allow me to save credentials." This is the only way the app will prompt you to enter a password.

To access the preconfigured sample code, open Visual Studio Code from the Applications panel. Select and open the appropriate file and execute the script by clicking Run.
