Overview
This AMI runs a self-hosted ERP and CRM application with MariaDB 11.8 on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. It manages contacts, quotes, orders, invoices, a product catalogue and an agenda, and further built-in modules (stock, projects, bank accounts, accounting, holidays) can be switched on under Setup. The application (version 24.0.2) and MariaDB 11.8.9 are pinned and pre-installed in the AMI.
What Perimattic adds
Administrator created for you: during first-login setup a random 24-character password is generated on your server and the one administrator account, using the email you enter, is created before the site is published. The installer is locked and no demonstration data is included. There are no default or shared credentials in the image. Apache provides HTTPS with a free Let's Encrypt certificate for your domain.
Limits you should know
On first sign-in the application asks for your company details. A basic set of modules is on; the Scheduled jobs module and the REST API are off. No mail server is configured: set one under Setup, then Emails. The first login creates the database tables and takes roughly two to three minutes. In our tests the application used about 55 to 100 MB and MariaDB about 155 to 230 MB, so a t3.small (2 GB) is the recommended starting size.
Licence and attribution
The application is released under the GNU General Public License v3 or later and MariaDB under the GPL v2. Built on the open-source Dolibarr (GPL-3.0-or-later). Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Dolibarr foundation; Dolibarr is a trademark of its owner.
Getting Started Launch the AMI and open ports 22, 80 and 443 in the security group SSH in and answer the setup prompts (domain and admin email) Open https://your-domain and sign in as admin with the password printed at the end of setup
A domain name with an A record pointing at the instance is required, because the site is served over HTTPS.

64-bit (x86) Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
Version release notes
Initial release.
- Application: ERP and CRM with Dolibarr 24.0.2 (container image pinned, baked into the AMI).
- Base: Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, fully patched at build time, built by an automated EC2 Image Builder pipeline.
- TLS: Apache reverse proxy with a Let's Encrypt certificate requested by certbot at first login.
- Credentials are generated on the instance at first login; none are present in the image.
- The application is installed once with a random administrator password generated at first login and given only to that one install container (the running container holds a different random value), before the site is published; the password is stored as a bcrypt hash, the installation pages are locked (install.lock) and there is no demonstration data. Setup verifies that the password works, that a wrong password and the usual default logins are refused, that exactly one account exists and that anonymous requests only receive the login form.
- Application: Dolibarr release 24.0.2 from the project's official image (GPL-3.0-or-later, unmodified) with MariaDB 11.8.9 (both pinned). The external module store is off; the REST API and the Scheduled jobs module are off.
- No SMTP is configured. Independent, non official build.
- Database: reachable only inside the Docker network.

Usage instructions
-
Launch an Instance
From AWS Marketplace, click Continue to Subscribe and then Continue to Configuration to launch the AMI.
-
Choose the Recommended Instance Type
t3.small (2 GB of memory) is the recommended starting size: in our tests the application used about 55 to 100 MB and MariaDB about 155 to 230 MB. The first login creates the database tables and takes roughly two to three minutes. Larger teams and many documents need more.
-
Configure Security Group
Allow inbound traffic on the following ports:
- 22 (SSH) - terminal access for setup
- 80 (HTTP) - needed to validate your domain for the TLS certificate
- 443 (HTTPS) - access to ERP and CRM with Dolibarr
-
Point a domain at the instance
Create a DNS A record (for example erp.example.com) pointing to the instance's public IP before you log in.
-
Connect to the Instance
ssh -i <your-key.pem> ubuntu@<public-ip>
-
First-Login Setup
The first SSH login runs a guided setup:
- Prompts for your domain and admin email and checks the DNS A record
- Generates a random 24-character admin password, the database passwords and the instance's security key on your server
- Starts MariaDB and installs the application once with that password (creating the database tables takes about two minutes), stores the password as a bcrypt hash and turns the external module store off
- Starts the application and checks that the password works, that a wrong password and the usual default logins are refused, that exactly one account exists, that the installer is locked, that the REST API is off and that anonymous requests only receive the login form
- Configures Apache as an HTTPS reverse proxy and requests a Let's Encrypt certificate
- Prints the URL and the admin credentials; they are also stored in /opt/app/access.txt (root only)
If a step fails, fix the problem shown and log in again: the setup resumes where it stopped.
-
Access ERP and CRM with Dolibarr
Open https://<your-domain> and sign in as admin with the generated password (view it again with: sudo cat /opt/app/access.txt). Complete the company details when asked and add users under Users & Groups.
-
Credentials
Generated on your server, never shared between customers. View them again with:
sudo cat /opt/app/access.txt
-
Manage the Services
cd /opt/app sudo docker compose ps sudo docker compose restart
Data is in MariaDB in /opt/app/mariadb and in /opt/app/documents (documents, generated PDFs and the install lock) and /opt/app/custom (extra modules): back up all of /opt/app or snapshot the volume before upgrades. No mail server is configured: set one under Setup > Emails. The REST API and the Scheduled jobs module are off.
