    Dimensions summary

This listing bills through a single dimension: the Confluent Consumption Unit. It uses a pay-as-you-go model, so you pay only for the resources you actually use. There are no fixed tiers or upfront quantities to select. Your charges accumulate as you stream, connect, process, and govern data. Usage across Kafka clusters, connectors, Apache Flink stream processing, and Stream Governance all draws from this one consumption unit. Costs scale with your consumption over time. This structure lets your spend rise and fall with actual workload rather than a preset commitment.

    Top-of-mind questions for buyers

It is a common billing unit that all consumption draws from. Kafka clusters bill for elastic capacity units per hour, networking per GB, and storage per GB. Connectors bill by throughput and a per-task rate. Stream processing bills by processing units per minute. Governance bills per environment per hour.
Clusters autoscale up to meet demand and back down as workloads fall, with no manual action. You pay only for the resources used when you use them. So your bill rises during peaks and drops when activity slows, without provisioning fixed capacity.
Charges apply simultaneously across streaming, connectors, stream processing, and governance. Streaming clusters bill by capacity, networking, and storage. High data throughput usually drives cost for busy pipelines. Heavy stream processing adds per-minute compute charges. All charges appear together on one invoice tied to actual usage.

Easy-to-Manage Kafka for Fast, High-Volume Integration

    Reviewed on Oct 29, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I use Kafka’s pub-sub model when a file or process needs to be read and understood by multiple applications. I find Confluent easy to configure, and I don’t have to host or manage the server because others manage it for us, which makes it easy and convenient. We host it on the cloud, and Kafka is faster and better than IBM MQ. We process around 8 million documents a day, and Kafka is fast enough to keep up with that volume and process the files. I’m very happy with how the product works.
What do you dislike about the product?
    Nothing
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I need files to be searched and files or processes to be read and understood by multiple applications; Kafka’s pub-sub model helps with that.
