Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for the GigaOps Auto-Patch Agent, billed per running EC2 instance. Pricing scales with the instance type you choose. Each dimension maps to a specific EC2 instance, from small burstable types like t2 and t3 to large compute, memory, storage, and accelerated families such as c, r, m, i, g, and p. Bigger instances with more CPU, memory, or specialized hardware carry higher hourly rates. You are charged only for the hours each instance runs. Stopping an instance stops its software charge. Total cost depends on which instances you deploy and how long they run.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each unit is one running EC2 instance of the type you pick, billed per hour. The software charge attaches to that single instance while it runs. Launching two instances of the same type meters two hourly charges. Each instance type carries its own rate, so your unit cost follows the instance you deploy.
The software charge meters running hours only. A stopped or terminated instance stops accruing the agent's hourly fee. You may still owe separate AWS charges for attached storage on a stopped instance, but those are AWS infrastructure fees, not the software licence.
Two factors combine: the hourly rate of each instance type you choose and the number of hours each runs. Charges bill per instance, then add together on one invoice. Running several instances at once stacks their hourly charges. Instance choice sets the rate; runtime sets the hours.
