You pay by the hour for Adobe ColdFusion (2023 Release) running on hardened Ubuntu Linux, with no upfront commitment. Pricing is not tiered by feature. Instead, each dimension maps to a specific Amazon EC2 instance type, so your rate depends on the compute size you pick. Options span general-purpose, compute-optimized, and memory-optimized families across sizes from micro and small up to 4xlarge. Larger instances carry more CPU and memory, which raises the hourly rate. You add the software cost to your standard AWS infrastructure charges and can stop or resize anytime.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hourly unit cover, and what am I actually paying for on each instance type?
Each hourly unit covers the ColdFusion software licence running on one Amazon EC2 instance of the size you select. The rate reflects that instance's compute and memory. This software charge is separate from your standard AWS infrastructure fees, which appear alongside it on the same bill.
Am I charged the hourly software rate when the instance is stopped or resized?
The software rate meters running hours only. A stopped instance does not accrue software charges, though AWS storage fees for the volume may continue. If you resize to a different instance type, your hourly software rate changes to match the new size.
Why do rates differ across the general-purpose, compute-optimized, and memory-optimized instance families?
Each family balances CPU and memory differently. Compute-optimized instances favor processing power, memory-optimized favor larger RAM, and general-purpose sit between. Your hourly rate maps to the family and size you choose, so you pick the mix that fits your ColdFusion workload.
