NNCompass Government is a single-pane-of-glass data management and prep platform that turns unstructured data into highly structured, AI/ML-ready data. NNCompass Government acts as the mesh between your data sources (onprem or cloud) and AWS AI/ML services.
NNCompass Government data management, ETL and data orchestration software acts as the bridge between your data sources (onprem or cloud) and AI/ML cloud services and libraries. NNCompass Government abstracts all required engineering tasks needed to both orchestrate and consume the output of AI/ML, even for UNSTRUCTURED data, in a single pane of glass that handles data ingestion (ETL), data preparation and transformation, streaming/pipelines and export to your format or database of choice.
NNCompass Government implements custom processing, parsing and streaming code to handle some of the most difficult government message types, data formats and security tagging environments.
These capabilities let your team and analysts focus on extracting value out of the data, as opposed to working endlessly to ingest, parse and ensure proper security tags on your data. Our custom security tagging code is used to parse and verify any text that we identify in a document as a candidate marking. This component also provides an ISM (XML Data Encoding Specification for Information Security Marking Metadata (ISM)) report as output which is a breakout of the marking into its constituent parts -- required to create TDF (Trusted Data Format) files.
Users can point their data at AWS AI services like Comprehend NLP on GovCloud. We orchestrate all of the core engineering tasks required to take advantage of this service, making it much more efficient for the government enterprise.

You pay by the hour based on the AWS EC2 instance size you run. All eight options bill on the same usage model; they differ only by compute capacity. The t3.xlarge and t3.2xlarge are smaller general-purpose sizes. The m4 and m5 families scale up through larger sizes, from m5.4xlarge and m4.4xlarge up to m4.10xlarge, m4.16xlarge, m5.12xlarge, and m5.24xlarge. Pick the size that matches your workload; hourly cost rises as compute capacity increases. You run the same software regardless of which instance you choose.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What determines the compute size I need for the different hourly instance options?
Your workload volume and data types drive the choice. This software ingests, parses, and transforms structured and unstructured data using machine learning. Heavier ingest, more government message types, and larger data lakes call for larger m4 or m5 instances. Lighter workloads fit the smaller t3 sizes.
Am I charged when the instance is stopped or powered off?
You pay the hourly software rate only while the instance runs. A stopped or powered-off instance does not accrue software charges. Note that underlying AWS storage tied to a stopped instance may still incur separate AWS fees, but the software meters running hours only.
Do I run different software features on a larger instance versus a smaller one?
No. All eight instance sizes run the same NNCompass Government software with the same capabilities, including security tagging, government message-type parsing, and the machine learning workbench. Larger m4 and m5 sizes give you more compute for heavier processing, not extra features.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
NNCompass will start automatically when the instance launches. Use your web browser to connect to and use the application. The default username for the NNCompass web application is "admin" and the password is initially set to the instance-id. Navigate to the public IPV4 (public DNS address found on the EC2 instance) to access NNCompass.
