What do you like best about the product?
the self-hosting capability, it's free, massive API integration options, and it doesn't have a limit of nodes or runs like make does. also love the visual nodes on canvas
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not dislike something in particular. maybe the dislike that Firefly III isn't pre-installed like others, and also that it doesn't tell me that I can install it (I have to google for optional nodes) a panel with install / all modules like in vscode, that also search on the internet for me, would be an improvement.

What do you like best about the product?
What I love most about n8n is the control and flexibility that come with self-hosting. Unlike traditional SaaS automation tools that charge per step or limit access to your data, n8n lets us run complex, high-volume workflows without constantly worrying about costs spiraling upward. Native access to the node source code, along with the ability to keep our data in-house for compliance and privacy, also integration with other apps has been an absolute game-changer for our infrastructure.
What do you dislike about the product?
Setting up and maintaining a self-hosted instance takes a fair amount of technical comfort. Although the visual builder feels intuitive once everything is running, dealing with Docker, keeping the server updated, and configuring a proper production environment can be a real hurdle if you don’t have DevOps support. Overall, it’s clearly less “plug-and-play” out of the box than fully managed SaaS alternatives like Zapier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
n8n addresses the high costs, rigid logic, and data-privacy limitations of traditional SaaS automation tools. Because we can self-host it and run custom code directly inside workflows, we avoid per-step pricing while keeping sensitive data on our own infrastructure. This has significantly reduced our software spend and gives us full flexibility to build complex, high-volume automations that fit our needs.

What do you like best about the product?
I like how flexible n8n is. I can connect different tools, APIs, and services in one workflow, customize processes when the usual integrations aren’t enough, and add custom logic when I need more control. The visual workflow builder helps me see each step and where the data is going, which makes workflows easier to manage and troubleshooting simpler. I use it to automate repetitive tasks, move data between platforms, and reduce manual work; it saves me time and helps reduce human errors. Basic workflows are pretty straightforward to set up, and the documentation helped when I got stuck.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find n8n’s advanced features take time to understand, especially complex API requests, custom JavaScript, and workflows with lots of conditional logic, which can take some trial and error to get working. Debugging larger workflows can also be a little difficult when there are lots of steps. I’d like clearer error messages, more context about where a workflow failed, and an easier way to trace data and identify which node caused the issue. Configuring APIs and credentials also makes setup a little more involved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
n8n helps me reduce repetitive manual work and keep different tools connected. I set up workflows to move data and handle tasks automatically, saving time, reducing human errors, and giving me flexibility to customize processes when simple integrations aren’t enough.
