AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
If you are an AWS Free Tier customer with a free plan, you are eligible to subscribe to this offer. You can use free credits to cover the cost of eligible AWS infrastructure. See AWS Free Tier for more details. If you created an AWS account before July 15th, 2025, and qualify for the Legacy AWS Free Tier, Amazon EC2 charges for Micro instances are free for up to 750 hours per month. See Legacy AWS Free Tier for more details.
You pay by the hour for each running instance, with no upfront commitment or fixed term. The many dimensions listed are AWS EC2 instance types, not separate plans or feature tiers. Each covers the same Ubuntu Pro software; the rate differs by instance size. Pricing scales with the instance's vCPU count and is metered by the second, so larger instances cost more per hour than smaller ones. This billing is added to your existing AWS invoice. You can apply the same subscription across AMD64 and Graviton (ARM64) architectures by selecting the matching instance type.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What determines the hourly rate for each instance type in the pricing table?
The rate scales with the instance's vCPU count and is metered by the second. Larger instances with more vCPUs carry a higher hourly software rate than smaller ones. Each instance type covers the same Ubuntu Pro software; only the size-based rate changes.
Am I charged when an instance is stopped or powered off?
The Ubuntu Pro software charge meters running time by the second. A stopped or powered-off instance does not accrue software charges. Underlying AWS storage or other resource fees may still apply separately, but the software rate applies only while the instance runs.
What is included in the Ubuntu Pro software across every instance type?
Every instance type covers the same Ubuntu Pro image. This includes security patches for Ubuntu components and hundreds of open source applications, FIPS 140-3 and Common Criteria EAL2 certified components, optional CIS hardening and DISA STIG profiles, and Kernel Livepatch for updates without reboot.
