Improved incident detection has reduced response times and supports better customer agreements

    Reviewed on Dec 05, 2025
Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

New Relic  is primarily used for log monitoring, where queries on the logs provide insights and create log-based metrics for all alerting-related requirements. The focus is mainly on alerting and dashboards.

How has it helped my organization?

New Relic  helped with the mean time to detection, the MTDD metric tracked for applications. For the platform, the detection capability enabled a reduction from around 20 to 30 minutes down to three minutes. This has been really helpful in terms of detecting issues as well as helping to triage and troubleshoot issues faster, creating a positive impact on the organization.

    What is most valuable?

One of the best features that New Relic offers is the user interface, which is much easier to use compared to other products such as Datadog  or Splunk. The team management and alert configuration process is also fairly straightforward. New Relic is very useful for teams that don't have much of a dedicated DevOps team but want to have observability for their platform, and it's an easy way to get started.

One of the main UI features is the ability to see a particular frequency, such as an error or a high amount of logs at a particular timestamp, and easily filter that via the graph as well as the timestamps that can be configured. This is relatively easy to use compared to other products.

    What needs improvement?

New Relic is priced on the higher side. Because of the pricing model, organizations have experienced uncontrolled costs and were not able to afford New Relic, which resulted in moving to open-source solutions such as Grafana  and Loki. This pricing structure has been the main pain point experienced with New Relic.

For how long have I used the solution?

New Relic has been used for the past two years.

    What was our ROI?

One of the metrics that helped as a return on investment was the ability to detect issues faster and troubleshoot more quickly, which in turn helped to achieve a much better service level agreement with customers.

What other advice do I have?

Pricing is primarily an area of concern. The overall rating for New Relic is eight out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

    Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Unified Observability Platform That Elevates Monitoring

    Reviewed on Dec 05, 2025
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
New Relic provides a truly unified observability experience by bringing APM, logs, metrics, traces, and infrastructure monitoring into a single platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
costs can increase rapidly as data ingestion grows, making it difficult to forecast budgets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
New Relic helps us address the core challenges of monitoring complex, distributed applications by giving us full visibility across services, infrastructure, logs, and user experience in one place.

Comprehensive Observability and Real-Time Insights Made Easy

    Reviewed on Dec 05, 2025
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
New Relic stands out for its comprehensive observability capabilities and intuitive user interface. The platform provides deep insights into application performance, infrastructure health, and user experience, all in one place. I particularly appreciate its real-time monitoring and alerting, which helps teams detect and resolve issues before they impact end users.
What do you dislike about the product?
While New Relic offers powerful observability features, there are a few areas that could be improved. The pricing model can become expensive for organizations with high data volumes or multiple users, as costs scale quickly with ingestion and retention. Additionally, data retention beyond the default period often incurs extra charges, which can be limiting for teams that need long-term historical analysis.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
New Relic helps solve the challenge of end-to-end visibility across complex application environments. In modern distributed systems, it’s easy for performance issues to go unnoticed until they impact users. New Relic addresses this by providing real-time monitoring, distributed tracing, and detailed error analytics, which allow us to quickly identify bottlenecks and resolve issues before they escalate.

    Reliable Observability with Deep Insights

    Reviewed on Dec 05, 2025
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
New Relic’s unified observability platform is what I like most. Having application performance metrics, logs, alerts, and dashboards all in one place makes it extremely easy to identify issues quickly and understand system behavior end-to-end. The real-time insights and customizable dashboards significantly improve debugging and overall monitoring efficiency.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main drawback is the complexity involved in initial setup and configuration. With so many features and options, it can take time to understand the platform fully and optimize it for your environment. Additionally, some advanced capabilities feel overwhelming for new users without proper guidance
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
New Relic helps us solve visibility and performance monitoring challenges across our applications and services. It consolidates metrics, logs, traces, and alerts into a single platform, which makes it much easier to pinpoint bottlenecks, diagnose production issues faster, and understand overall system health. This has significantly reduced our debugging time, improved the stability of our releases, and allowed us to be more proactive in addressing performance problems.

Comprehensive Dashboards and APM Telemetry Elevate Performance Monitoring

    Reviewed on Dec 05, 2025
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
Dashboards, APM telemetry and in depth analysis of services and performance. Alerts are set up and triggering is also another good thing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes false alerts are triggered causing chaos.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
New Relic helps me spot performance issues quickly and understand what’s slowing things down. The benefit is smoother apps, less downtime, and more confidence that users get a reliable experience. New Relic takes the guesswork out of tracking performance by showing exactly where issues start. It helps reduce downtime, speeds up troubleshooting, and keeps customers happy with smoother experiences.
