Investics DARTS ESG Service

This is a free trial to limited sample datasets from ESG data vendors including Arabesque S-Ray, IdealRatings, and MSCI (coming soon). Investics DARTS has transformed vendor datasets into analytics ready, plug and play information. Use the Investics DARTS ESG Service datasets to assess the sustainability performance of global public equities in your investment process with the Investics Cloud Ecosystem (ICE), as well as your own software tools and systems. With Investics DARTS data is remediated, enriched with related investment data, including **FIGI” security identifiers and standardized industry classifications. Transformed into formats immediately ready for downstream system and software consumption for investment management, portfolio and company analysis, risk management, compliance, regulatory and other reporting use cases. Unlike the inconsistencies and anomalies often present with 3rd party data vendors datasets, there should be no need for your organization to spend time and money to remediate these datasets before use in Investics analytics or integration with other data, software, databases or systems.

With the use of FIGI, users can easily and reliably cross reference different vendor datasets available through Investics DARTS as well as other data vendors. Link to portfolio holdings and/or transactions for portfolio, trading, compliance and regulatory reporting use cases.

FIGI (Financial Instrument Global Identifier) is a globally recognized, non-changing identifier provided at no cost. FIGI utilizes open symbology for identifying instruments globally across all asset classes. FIGI has applicability beyond simple security and instrument identification. The identifiers are used for managing the transition of hierarchical specificity as an instrument moves through the functional aspects of trading, settlement, portfolio management, asset servicing, risk management and regulatory reporting (i.e. the ‘contextual view’). Unique FIGI identifiers are available at the security exchange, the composite country and the global share class levels.

For full access to ESG datasets from the Investics DARTS service, Investics provides both private and bring your own subscription (BYOS) offers on AWS Data Exchange (ADX) for various ESG dataset bundles listed below.

If you do not currently have an existing ESG data vendor licence, Investics is a fully licensed redistributor for multiple ESG data vendors and can licence the use of the data directly through an AWS Data Exchange (ADX) private offer. This can be a preferable option for organisations who are interested in Investics managing the data vendor relationships, contract(s) and data transformation/remediation efforts on their behalf. In this situation, subscription fees are billed to a subscriber’s AWS account directly by AWS - aka no invoice directly from Investics.

For those who have a data licence already directly in place with an ESG data vendor, Investics will turn on the Investics DARTS service for the respective licensed ESG data bundle(s) through a “Bring Your Own Subscription” (BYOS) at no extra cost/fee and also waive the licencing fee for a subscription to the Investics Cloud Ecosystem (ICE). AWS data storage fees will be billed directly to the subscriber's AWS account by AWS - aka no invoice directly from Investics.

For Investics DARTS subscribers who also subscribe to the Investics Cloud Ecosystem (ICE) and along with many other ** Investics ICE** benefits, your Investics DARTS data files will automatically be propagated to your Investics ICE Bucket immediately after the DARTS AWS Data Exchange dataset revisions are added to the subscribed Investics DARTS product offerings. Background - ICE is a native cloud investment data and analytics platform-as-a-service (PaaS) which can be hosted by Investics as a managed service or provided standalone in a client’s own AWS environment. ICE can help institutional investors achieve “The Complete Investment Picture” across the multi-asset class risk and return spectrum. Running on Amazon Web Services (AWS), Investics ICE is a next generation native cloud investment data and analytics platform which combines data collection, aggregation, modeling and management with dynamic calculation engines and visualizations to meet common institutional investor industry requirements including performance measurement, risk analytics, investment compliance and regulatory reporting.

ICE has four primary components:​

1. DARTS Data Aggregation Remediation Transformation Service - DARTS is a data delivery supermarket delivered through AWS Data Exchange. Subscribers can easily procure vendor data modeled and optimized for immediate use in downstream cloud and non-cloud software, BI Tools and systems. Data available through DARTS today include portfolio holdings and transactions, ESG, risk statistics, characteristics, benchmarks, security master and reference.
2. Fusion Data fabric construct - manage and govern the stitching and modeling of different institutional investor datasets for almost any downstream investment data and analytics use case. Data wrangling recipes provided via crowdsourcing. Automatically generate fit-for-purpose materialized views, data cubes and data marts.
3. IMPRES In-Memory Performance Risk Engine System - next generation performance and risk analytical engine which has maximum flexibility to instantly calculate in real time a truly customized risk and return service. IMPRES can accommodate some of today’s toughest performance measurement challenges including ABOR to IBOR to PBOR transformation, appropriate handling of private investments, flexible hierarchies,attribution and risk.
4. Vision Data visualization - produce highly customized interactive dashboards and reports with embedding capabilities to seamlessly integrate visualizations into clients’ own websites.

All of the ICE components are designed to deliver datasets ready for downstream software consumption (BI Tools, report writers, cloud services, data lakes, data warehouses, databases and spreadsheets, just to name a few) by normalizing content across different data sources and remediating common anomalies which can cause data to be misinterpreted, rejected, dropped, misaligned or require additional redundant manual steps to make the data usable. In addition, all of the ICE components can work independently or in tandem with each other. In fact, ICE will automatically flow DARTS subscription data, along with its metadata, straight through into ICE in order to automatically stitch related data together (including holdings and reference data) and generate materialized views, data cubes and data marts instantly connectable to value added data management capabilities, calculation engines and visualizations to accommodate an almost unlimited set of use cases.

For existing subscribers to AWS, it takes only about 10 minutes and costs virtually nothing to subscribe to ICE. ICE itself takes about 3 minutes to spin up once a subscriber has clicked through the subscription agreement options and provided some contact information. Upon verification by an Investics support staff member, a new subscriber receives a link to their hosted ICE environment via email and they are up and running. After a subscription to either ICE and a new DARTS offering it takes about 36 hours for DARTS subscription data and ICE to synchronize and begin to automatically update your Investics ICE Bucket.
