AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance type you run. All 20 options bill hourly under a usage model, with no upfront commitment. The choices span three instance families: t3 for smaller burstable workloads, m3 and m4 for general-purpose needs, and m5 for newer general-purpose compute up to bare metal. Within each family, sizes range from medium and large to multiple xlarge configurations. Larger instances offer more CPU and memory, so your hourly rate scales with the instance size you select. You pick the size that fits your workload.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does the hourly rate cover, and what am I paying Hossted for?
You pay for the running EC2 instance plus Hossted's support and security layer for Directus. Connecting your instance to the Hossted Platform gives you real-time monitoring, automated updates, and security features. The hourly charge meters the software while your instance runs.
Am I charged when my instance is stopped or paused?
The hourly software charge meters running time only. When you fully stop the instance, the per-hour software charge stops accruing. Stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but those are separate from the Directus software charge.
How do I choose between the t3, m3, m4, and m5 instance families?
t3 instances suit smaller, burstable workloads with variable demand. The m3 and m4 families handle steady general-purpose loads. The m5 family covers newer general-purpose compute, up to bare metal. Each larger size adds CPU and memory, raising the hourly rate. Match the size to your expected load.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
