SpiraPlan is Inflectra's enterprise-level platform for managing programs, portfolios, and complex projects with precision and accountability. It unifies strategic planning, execution, and oversight across multiple teams and initiatives, offering real-time visibility into progress, resource allocation, and risk. With robust support for requirements, tasks, milestones, and dependencies, SpiraPlan ensures that every objective is clearly defined and traceable. Built-in compliance features like electronic signatures, audit trails, and approval workflows support rigorous governance across regulated industries. Its deep traceability links requirements, tests, tasks, and issues to provide a single source of truth. Powered by Inflectra.ai, SpiraPlan delivers AI-driven insights that help teams generate user stories, assess risk, and predict delivery outcomes-turning data into smarter decisions across the enterprise.
SpiraPlan is an enterprise-grade program and portfolio management platform designed to align strategic objectives with execution across large and complex organizations. It provides a unified environment where portfolios, programs, projects, releases, and sprints are managed together, enabling consistent governance, visibility, and control across initiatives.
Inflectra.ai enhances SpiraPlan with intelligent, context-aware automation embedded directly into the platform. AI-assisted features generate user stories, acceptance criteria, and test cases from plain-language input, identify historical risk patterns, and suggest planning adjustments based on similar past initiatives. These capabilities reduce manual effort, improve consistency, and help teams focus on higher-value decision-making.
Unlike task-focused project management tools, SpiraPlan is built to manage the full hierarchy of work - from high-level portfolios to day-to-day execution - while accounting for shared resources, budgets, timelines, and dependencies. Executives and program managers can monitor progress against strategic goals, assess portfolio health, and adjust priorities and resource allocation as business needs change.
SpiraPlan supports detailed planning and execution through releases, sprints, user stories, tasks, and sub-tasks. Teams can visualize progress using Kanban boards, Gantt charts, and real-time dashboards, while workload and capacity management features help prevent bottlenecks and over-commitment. Built-in time tracking supports forecasting, budgeting, and post-project analysis, enabling more predictable delivery outcomes.
A core strength of SpiraPlan is its end-to-end traceability. Requirements, risks, tasks, tests, and defects are linked in a relational structure that allows teams to quickly assess the downstream impact of change, validate coverage, and manage risk proactively. This traceability supports effective change management and provides stakeholders with clear insight into release readiness and delivery confidence.
SpiraPlan is well suited for organizations operating in regulated or compliance-focused environments. It includes controlled workflows, approval processes, electronic signatures, and user-level audit trails that ensure all work is transparent, repeatable, and fully documented. These capabilities support industries such as healthcare, finance, aerospace, and government, where governance and audit readiness are critical.
By combining portfolio-level oversight, detailed execution planning, traceability, compliance controls, and AI-driven insights, SpiraPlan enables enterprises to manage complexity at scale without sacrificing agility, accountability, or control.

AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before it ends, access to these entitlements will expire.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
SpiraPlan uses a contract pricing model based on concurrent users. You choose one tier that fits how many people access the system at the same time, from 3 up to 1000 concurrent users. Every tier includes unlimited named users and unlimited projects, so pricing scales only with simultaneous usage, not total headcount. This lets many people share a set number of licenses. The tiers step up through 3, 5, 10, 20, 30, 50, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 500, 750, and 1000 concurrent users. You pick the tier matching your peak concurrent access.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as one concurrent user for billing purposes?
A concurrent user is any person logged into the system at the same moment, not a named account. You can register unlimited named users. Billing tracks only peak simultaneous logins. If people work in different time zones, they can share the same concurrent licenses without needing separate ones.
What happens if more people try to log in than my tier allows?
Your tier caps how many people can access the system at the same time. If your team regularly hits that cap, you move to a higher tier. Named user count and project count never affect this. You size your tier around peak simultaneous access, not total staff.
How does the price change when I move to a higher concurrent user tier?
Moving up applies the higher tier's price to your whole subscription, since each tier is a single edition covering a set concurrent user count. The vendor charges the incremental difference between your current tier and the higher one when you upgrade.

Strong Project Visibility and Risk Management, With a Learning Curve

What do you like best about the product?
I like the unified dashboard because it gives me a clear view of project progress, timelines, and risks in one place. The AI-powered insights and reporting also help identify potential issues early and support better project decisions. Its support for Agile workflows and integrations makes it flexible for different teams and processes.
What do you dislike about the product?
The platform can feel a little complex at first, especially when setting up advanced workflows and dashboards. Some customization options take time to understand, and the reporting interface could be more intuitive. More ready-to-use templates and simpler navigation would make the experience easier for new users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SpiraPlan helps us centralize project planning, risk tracking, and progress monitoring instead of managing them across separate tools. It improves visibility into timelines, priorities, and potential risks, helping the team make faster decisions. The result is better coordination, fewer manual tasks, and more consistent project delivery.

Comprehensive All-in-One Project Management with SpiraPlan

What do you like best about the product?
I have used SpiraPlan for managing my freelance projects and it has been one of the most comprehensive tools I have come across. What I liked most is that everything from task management, bug tracking, requirements and project planning is available in one place, so I never had to switch between multiple tools. The interface is clean and easy to navigate, setting up projects and assigning tasks was very straightforward. Real time tracking helped me stay on top of progress and deadlines without any confusion. The Gantt chart and Kanban board views made planning and monitoring much more visual and organized. It also integrates well with other tools which made my overall workflow much smoother.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve is a bit steep when you first get started, especially for someone who is new to ALM tools. It took me some time to get comfortable with all the features and navigation. Also the performance felt a bit slow at times when working with larger projects with many tasks and requirements, which could get a little frustrating during busy working sessions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before SpiraPlan, managing multiple freelance projects meant juggling different tools for tasks, bugs and requirements which was time consuming and confusing. SpiraPlan brought everything under one roof and made it much easier to track progress, manage deadlines and stay organized. It saved me a lot of time, reduced confusion and helped me deliver my freelance projects in a more structured and professional way.

Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
Clean, simple UI with an easy setup process. I like the pay-by-active-use pricing model, and the collaboration and tracking features feel strong. Overall, it provides comprehensive support for decision-making.
What do you dislike about the product?
I’ve run into occasional performance and slowness issues. The workflow configuration isn’t always intuitive, and there are some limitations when it comes to customization. Also, the list views can feel cramped, which makes it harder to scan and work through items comfortably.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SpiraPlan brings our Agile planning, test management, and ALM together in a single platform, addressing our previously fragmented tooling and weak traceability. It gives us end-to-end visibility from business requirements through to Databricks pipeline deployments, helping cut delivery cycles by ~20% and supporting audit-ready compliance across our data engineering projects.
