Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for the EC2 instance size you run. Six instance options let you match compute capacity to your workload. The t2 sizes (micro, small, medium, large) are general-purpose and scale up in CPU and memory. The c4 sizes (large, xlarge) are compute-optimized for heavier processing. Hourly billing means you pay only for the time each instance runs, with no upfront commitment. Larger sizes carry a higher hourly rate. This software fee is added to standard AWS infrastructure charges on your monthly bill.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each instance includes a pre-configured WAMP stack: Apache web server, MySQL database, and PHP. The vendor hardens it against known vulnerabilities and installs it in standard Windows directories. You connect via RDP and manage services through the WAMP control panel. Default database credentials should be changed after first login.
The t2 sizes (micro, small, medium, large) are general-purpose. CPU and memory increase as you move up the sizes. The c4 sizes (large, xlarge) are compute-optimized for heavier processing. You pick the size that matches your workload; each carries its own hourly software rate.
The software fee meters running instance-hours. When an instance is fully stopped, you do not accrue the hourly software charge. Note that stopped instances may still incur standard AWS storage fees for attached volumes. The software license bills only for time the instance runs.
