Each dimension is a specific EC2 instance type, billed by the hour. The instance types span general-purpose, compute-optimized, memory-optimized, storage-optimized, and accelerated families, from small shared instances up to large bare-metal and high-memory machines. What resources do I get for a given hourly instance dimension, and how is the instance counted for billing?
Each dimension maps to one running EC2 instance of that type. You are billed per hour that the instance runs. The instance type sets the CPU, memory, and storage you receive. Billing counts running time on the machine you launch, not user accounts, sockets, or cores.
Am I charged when the instance is stopped or powered off?
Software charges apply per hour while the instance runs. A fully stopped instance stops accruing hourly software charges. Underlying AWS fees for attached storage may still apply while stopped. Since the software itself is free under an open-source license, the software portion of your hourly cost is zero.
Does using the database require paying a separate software license fee on top of the instance?
No. CUBRID uses an open-source license, so no software license fee applies. You pay only for the AWS compute you run. Technical support and maintenance are separate services billed by the vendor, not included in this listing. Contact the vendor for those service arrangements.
