IBM Maximo Application Suite: Configurable, Integrated Platform That Streamlines Asset Management

    Reviewed on Jun 18, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about IBM Maximo Application Suite is the breadth of capabilities it brings together in a single platform and the flexibility it offers to support different industries and business processes. As an implementation consultant, I've seen organizations streamline maintenance, inventory, procurement, and reliability activities without relying on multiple disconnected systems.

One of the biggest advantages is the level of configurability and integration. Maximo can be adapted to complex operational requirements and integrates well with ERP, IoT, and other enterprise applications, which helps customers create a connected asset management ecosystem. The user experience has also improved significantly with the newer interface, making navigation more intuitive for end users.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike most about IBM Maximo Application Suite is that its flexibility and depth come with added complexity. Implementations require careful planning, and organizations that are new to enterprise asset management may face a steeper learning curve compared to lighter CMMS solutions.

While the user experience has improved significantly, some advanced configuration and administrative tasks still require specialized knowledge. Initial setup, integrations, and data preparation can also be time-consuming, especially in large environments with multiple systems.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of the biggest benefits is the ability to move from reactive to proactive maintenance. Through preventive and predictive maintenance capabilities, along with monitoring and AI-driven insights, organizations are able to reduce unplanned downtime, improve asset reliability, and optimize maintenance costs. In several projects, customers have achieved higher schedule compliance and gained better control over spare parts and resource utilization.
