What do you like best about the product?
I really like the most is how the Ontology feature lets us map out all our disconnected raw data streams into actual physical business objects that our operations team can easily understand. I rely on the Contour tool constantly to visually explore millions of rows of historical data without having to write complex SQL queries from scratch every single time. The pipeline builder interface is surprisingly intuitive for connecting different sources once you see how the logic flows together. An unexpected benefit was discovering the incredibly detailed data lineage tracking, which honestly saved me hours of debugging by showing me exactly where a broken metric originated from upstream.
What do you dislike about the product?
The initial learning curve for wrapping your head around their specific terminology and data mapping logic was honestly pretty overwhelming when I first started during onboarding. It definitely takes some serious hands-on practice reading through the documentation to figure out exactly how to structure the backend data models correctly so your frontend dashboards actually load fast.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before bringing this platform in, we were literally wasting weeks trying to manually combine exports from completely disconnected legacy systems just to answer basic supply chain questions. Now our entire operations group can log into the exact same workspace to see live metrics, which has totally stopped the endless email chains arguing about whose spreadsheet is actually accurate. Our data engineers collaborate a lot smoother with the business analysts now because everyone is building off the exact same trusted baseline data. It easily saves us countless hours of tedious manual data wrangling every single month and helps our leadership make critical operational decisions much faster.

What do you like best about the product?
I love how Foundry consolidates data from various sources into one platform and simplifies cleansing, transforming, and analyzing that data. For reporting purposes, I love having my data pipeline and analysis all in one place. It saves me time hopping between tools. I also love being able to analyze large data sets without having to rely on multiple tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve can sometimes be steep. There are so many bells and whistles and concepts you have to know.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Foundry to consolidate data from different sources, prep it for analysis, and create more consistent data sets for reporting. Previously we spent a lot of time manually merging and validating data. Foundry has allowed us to eliminate a lot of that manual effort and track data back to its source. Personally it's allowed me to focus less on data prep and more time analyzing and doing actual business reporting.

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Palantir foundry how it brings data, operational workflow altogether in one platform. It makes it very easier to work with data from multiple different sources and turn it into something useful without continuously switching between different different tools.

One thing that I dislike is that Palantir foundry can have a difficult learning curve specially for those people who are not very familiar with data platforms. For example, understanding how does the different data sets, pipelines and workflows connect can feel challenging in the beginning
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest challenge it solves for me is that the data spread across different systems and platforms, instead of manually cleaning and combining data, it helps to provide a centralised environment to manage and analize it. The biggest benefit is having visibility into the data and being able to turn it into actionable insights more efficiently

What do you like best about the product?
I work with datasets, transformations, and pipeline dependencies most in Foundry. What I use daily is lineage. If one of my upstream datasets changes or a transformation is outputting something unexpected, I can see where my data is coming from and which jobs downstream are using it rather than manually inspecting each pipeline.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main struggle I initially faced was the learning curve. I had familiarity with SQL, Spark, and how data workflows are generally handled in the cloud. But Foundry has unique ways of handling projects, datasets, and transformations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having visibility into complex data pipelines. Before Foundry, if something broke downstream, you could spend days debugging what change happened upstream. With Foundry, I can click through the dependency chain, view the dataset, and pinpoint the problem a lot quicker. Other engineers can also see the full pipeline structure instead of relying on tribal knowledge.

Foundry simplifies the process of consolidating data from our various financial and operational systems, ensuring that analysis doesn't feel fragmented or incomplete. It makes it very easy to link any figure used for budgeting, variance analysis, or management reporting back to its source. Creating reusable workflows is particularly helpful when you need to update the same reports every month.

It was a bit challenging to learn at first.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It reduces the time spent consolidating financial information from multiple sources prior to analysis. I can now work with more standardized datasets for budgeting, performance reviews, and risk assessments, rather than relying heavily on manually created spreadsheets. Reporting is more accurate, giving you more time to add value through actual analysis and decision-making.
