Passively gathers and analyzes diverse asset data for effective vulnerability management and strategic planning

    Reviewed on Apr 18, 2025
    Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

The main purpose for using Armis  is to gather information about OT assets, healthcare assets, and IT, every connected asset in our environment. We also use it for vulnerability management and assessment, especially for OT and IoT devices. Additionally, we analyze technical debt by identifying assets nearing end-of-life and check for misconfigurations.

How has it helped my organization?

Deeper asset visibility and device intelligence brings to detect and alert onto the vulnerability.

    What is most valuable?

Armis  has a vast database of devices, which aids in device detection and functioning evaluation. The solution listens to passive scanners for traffic data without active scans, allowing device identification from an inventory standpoint. It assesses open vulnerabilities, provides traffic flow insights, integrates with ticketing workflows, and aggregates security solutions like Active Directory and EDR.

    What needs improvement?

There are occasional issues with some built-in integrations that require troubleshooting, particularly with DHCP integration. Developing additional integrations would be beneficial.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been dealing with Armis for around two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is stable, and I have not faced any performance issues with the console or queries.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

As a SaaS platform, it is highly scalable. However, deploying appliances within the network might depend on correctly sizing the appliances as needed.

How are customer service and support?

I have not closely worked with Armis support but have had positive experiences working with presales engineers.

How would you rate customer service and support?

    Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I was a partner with Armis at my previous organization.

    How was the initial setup?

The initial setup involves installing appliances in the IT environment to capture data from on-prem applications. The SaaS model simplifies analytics by forwarding network data to the cloud.

    What was our ROI?

Armis saves time by automating asset inventory management, allowing enterprises to quickly strategize by understanding their assets and exposures.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I'm not well-versed in its pricing, but it is feature-rich and justifiably priced.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I am not sure about specific alternatives, but Armis has greater visibility compared to solutions like Tenable OT, Nozomi Networks , or Claroty.

What other advice do I have?

The overall solution is highly rated at nine out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

    Hybrid Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

What is our primary use case?

I use Armis  for asset discovery and vulnerability assessments of the OT network.

    What is most valuable?

Armis  is easy to use. Very few software solutions have OT capabilities that do not impact OT operations. Its asset visibility is good as well. This comprehensive feature set is crucial for our operations. Additionally, the straightforward installation process and low maintenance requirement are significant advantages.

    What needs improvement?

The vulnerability assessment for Windows is not that great. It misses out on a lot of vulnerabilities. Additionally, the filtration process in Armis is not that great.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have used Armis for six months now.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is stable, as I have rated it eight on a scale of one to ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is very scalable and easy to scale, as I also rated it eight on a scale of one to ten.

How are customer service and support?

Tech support is good, but they are still not able to solve one of our problems.

How would you rate customer service and support?

    How was the initial setup?

The installation is straightforward, and one person is good enough to do it.

    What was our ROI?

It is installed in our setup for risk mitigation, so it is difficult to put a number on return on investment.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing and licensing of the product are average, and I rate it six out of ten.

What other advice do I have?

I have not seen any machine learning features or AI capabilities in the product. If AI provided a better understanding of vulnerabilities, it would be great. I rate my experience with Armis as nine out of ten.

Works efficiently for asset management and has a simple setup process

    Reviewed on Aug 30, 2024
    Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

We used the platform for vulnerability management.

    What is most valuable?

The solution made generating documentation and sharing reports via email easy.

    What needs improvement?

Like any IT tool, continuous learning and improvement are essential for the solution.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Armis for one year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I rate the solution an eight out of ten for stability.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

As mentioned earlier, the platform could slow down when multiple users were active in the same environment. However, this is common for IT tools. Despite this, the product scaled data and functionalities effectively when needed.

I rate the scalability an eight.

How are customer service and support?

I did not need to contact their support team, but they were very helpful when we onboarded the platform.

    How was the initial setup?

The initial setup and deployment were simple. It was already configured for me, and when I was introduced to it and shown how to manage it, I found it very easy to use.

What other advice do I have?

Armis' automated risk assessment helped us identify vulnerabilities, such as open ports and external factors, that posed risks to our systems. Although we eventually switched to Nmap, the platform effectively highlighted these vulnerabilities.

It is user-friendly for asset management and security, but specific use cases, such as those involving medical devices, may require specialized training.

I advise others to thoroughly learn the platform, which is useful for specific tools like medical devices and IoT. They should use it for at least three to four years to fully benefit from the solution.

Overall, I rate it a nine out of ten.
