You pay by the hour for this hardened Oracle Linux 8 operating system image. Pricing is usage-based, so you are billed only for the hours each instance runs. Each dimension maps to a specific EC2 instance type. The hourly software rate changes with the instance you pick. Smaller instances with fewer resources carry lower hourly rates, while instances with more CPU, memory, storage, or accelerators carry higher rates. This lets you match the instance size to your workload. You can run any listed instance type without a term commitment.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
You get a release-specific hardened baseline of Oracle Linux 8. Verification covers the packaged operating-system configuration, including filesystem, platform, system integrity, services, audit, identity, and network settings. Your own applications, cloud account configuration, and any changes made after deployment fall outside this image-level scope.
You pay the hourly software rate only while an instance runs. Stopped or powered-off instances do not accrue software charges. AWS may still bill underlying storage for a stopped instance, but the software licence meters running hours only.
Yes. Each dimension ties to one specific EC2 instance type, and the hourly software rate is set per type. If you move your workload to another listed instance, you pay that instance's rate for the hours it runs. There is no term commitment.
