Each pricing dimension maps to a specific Amazon EC2 instance type, from small general-purpose sizes to large compute, memory, storage, and accelerated options. The hourly rate changes with the instance you choose, so cost scales with the compute capacity you select. There are no upfront commitments; you are charged only for the hours each instance runs. To change your cost, pick a smaller or larger instance type that fits your workload.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
One unit is one running EC2 instance of the chosen type, metered per hour. The software charge applies for each hour that instance runs. If you run several instances, each accrues its own hourly charge based on its instance type.
The software fee meters running hours only. A stopped or paused instance does not accrue the software charge. Note that underlying AWS storage or other AWS resource fees may still apply while an instance is stopped, separate from this software charge.
The software ships as a machine image you launch with a 1-Click deployment on AWS. You pick an EC2 instance type at launch, and that choice sets your hourly software rate. To change cost, relaunch on a smaller or larger instance type.

2. Logging in as Administrator
To log in to your AWS Windows instance as an Administrator, follow these steps:
- Go to the AWS Support Knowledge Center to retrieve the Administrator password.
- Use the private key (.pem) file you generated when you created your EC2 instance to decrypt the Administrator password.
- After obtaining the password, you can use it to log in to your Windows instance through Remote Desktop (RDP).
