WHAT IS INCLUDED
WebRTC and RTMP ingest, HLS and DASH delivery, VoD, MP4 and HLS recording, and the full REST API. Stream source pull over RTMP, UDP, MP4, HLS and RTSP. Free SDKs and sample applications for iOS, Android, JavaScript, Flutter, React Native and Unity - mobile WebRTC SDKs are publish-only in Community.
Community Edition does not include WebRTC playback - end-to-end latency is 8-12 seconds rather than the 500ms Enterprise delivers. It also does not include adaptive bitrate transcoding, clustering, Kubernetes support, GPU hardware encoding, stream security, SRT or NDI ingest, DRM, LL-HLS, or a support SLA. Those are Enterprise features.

Ant Media Server Community - Open Source RTMP, HLS & WebRTC Ingest
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.

You pay by the hour for the software, billed per running instance. The many options here are EC2 instance types, not feature tiers. Each option maps to a different server size, from smaller instances like t2.large and c5.large up to larger ones like m5.24xlarge and c5n.18xlarge. You pick the instance type that fits your streaming load. Larger instances handle more broadcasts and viewers. You are charged only while an instance runs, so cost scales with how much compute you keep active. Cloud infrastructure costs from AWS are billed separately.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one billed instance-hour actually cover on this Community Edition listing?
One instance-hour covers the software license running on a single server for one hour. The license places no limit on connections, broadcasters, or concurrent viewers. Your real capacity depends on the instance size you choose and its CPU. You pick a larger EC2 type to support more broadcasts and viewers.
Am I charged for the software while an instance is stopped or during idle periods?
Software charges apply only while an instance runs. Stopped instances do not accrue hourly software charges. You can shut down instances manually or use auto-scaling to close idle nodes and stop those charges. Stopped instances may still incur AWS storage fees, which AWS bills separately.
If I run a cluster of several instances, how does licensing cost work?
The software is licensed per server. Each running instance needs its own license, so a cluster of three servers means three hourly charges. In a cluster you separate origin servers, which accept broadcasts, from edge servers, which deliver to viewers. A load balancer and database server are also needed and billed separately by AWS.
