Mobile security projects have gained client trust and saved significant management time
What is our primary use case?
My main use case for IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson is that we use it for both mobile and security consultancy for a larger number of organizations specific for security and cybersecurity.
In a typical project or scenario, we use IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson to protect emails and our clients' accounts from being hacked and from cyber insecurities.
Our customers have a wide list of mobile device usage requirements which present a vast array of security concerns as it is related to the protection of intellectual property, regulatory compliance, and control of business focus usage during the workday.
What is most valuable?
The best features that IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson offers us are the properly configured workflow which makes for easy ongoing management and tweaks to the management of enrolled mobile devices.
The properly configured workflow helps with my daily tasks by allowing us to manage our clients' information and accounts appropriately.
IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson has positively impacted my organization by helping us gain more clients since they trust our organization from using IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson, and we have gained a 40% increase in clients. We have been able to save time since it is easier to use, and it was easy deploying it in our organization.
The 40% increase in clients was measured as it was tied to a particular project and also in a certain period of time when we started using IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson.
What needs improvement?
IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson can be improved, and I wish the dashboard help verbiage and also simpler customization for white label items were better or different.

I have been using IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson for four years and five months.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I previously used Microsoft Endpoint Manager before switching to IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson.
I decided to switch from Microsoft Endpoint Manager to IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson because having been involved in this industry for quite some time, it is vitally clear IBM and IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson are at the top of the list for available technical support and ongoing education. As an IBM Security Champion , I have experienced the best and worst within approximately 25 MDM solutions, including IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson. For me, it has been a straightforward decision to select IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson for these reasons.
What was our ROI?
I have seen a return on investment as 55 to 65% of our time has been saved since we deployed IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson in our company.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing was average; I would say it was cost-effective and affordable.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
Before choosing IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson, I evaluated other options, including the Zendesk Support Suite.
What other advice do I have?
My advice to others looking into using IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson is that there are very few scenarios where the solution is less suited. However, if an organization is device-specific with just iOS devices, there are other less complex solutions available if the organization has basic security requirements. Any organization looking for a well-organized, granular solution will find IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson to be the perfect fit. Having worked for a different MDM vendor in the past, it is very clear that this solution not only provides the levels of granularity needed to address numerous security requirements but also offers outstanding quality of support behind the scenes. I would rate this solution a 9 out of 10.

Centralized Endpoint Management and Security with MaaS360
Centralized device control has reduced data costs and protects lost mobiles and tablets
What is our primary use case?
IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson is a great product that we implemented to protect our devices, such as computers and mobiles from cybersecurity threats. We use IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson to manage our company's iPads and other devices, which allows us to manage every aspect of the device. We are able to centralize the deployment of apps to the devices. Users no longer need to keep up with Apple ID credentials. We can track devices if they are lost and wipe them if needed.
IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson provides comprehensive security features such as mobile threat defense, secure containerization, and app distribution controls, which is a quick specific example of how I have used it to solve a real problem or situation at my company. This is what makes it a great tool for any organization that requires strict security and compliance controls.
What is most valuable?
The best features IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson offers include providing a centralized admin for all the systems, protecting all the systems from cybersecurity threats, and great integration with any operating system. App management, deployment features, ease of use, overall application distribution, device control, and device location are other prominent features.
I find myself relying on all the features I mentioned, including centralized admin, device protection, integration, app management, ease of use, device control, and location, the most day-to-day because they are very robust and helpful. Because we use it, it helps us to control mobile devices, limiting their functions and deploying desired applications. If you provide a mobile device without a limit, the users can abuse the data plan and settings for the device, especially for any organization. Having full control of them is beneficial.
The tracking of devices is a critical feature. In any location, we can track devices if they are lost and wipe the data out or wipe them completely. This helps to protect our data.
Everything since we started using IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson has been phenomenal, especially security, which has improved overall on our devices and our data. We have increased administrator efficiency by easing deployment. License management is easier. We have been able to cut costs around 30 to 40% as it helped us manage all our systems with different or same software. IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson offers best-in-class security controls for any of our devices. When lost or stolen, we are able to wipe it out.
What needs improvement?
Synchronization is a problem sometimes, and I suggest that IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson should improve by making the user interface more user-friendly. It feels pretty average, which gives a hard time for new users. It should be more user-friendly and intuitive.
IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson should reduce the cost of the per-device subscription, because when you have a lot of devices like our organization has, it becomes pretty expensive to manage all the devices. It should also allow simplified device management.
The cost reduction of 30 to 40% is primarily from reduced device losses, less manual work for admins, and other factors. The more devices you have to manage, the more the cost, especially because they bill per device. In our case, IBM Security MaaS360 can be a bit expensive. It could be less expensive for a small organization dealing with a few devices. The setting is slightly complicated because of the unintuitive interface.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have used IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson for the last seven years, and I was using this tool also when I was in my previous organization.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson is stable. According to my experience and how I have used it over those years, I have not seen any downtime or lagging.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson is very scalable because we can manage over 1,000 devices at a time and it has never crashed or limited the number of devices we can manage.
How are customer service and support?
The customer support for IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson is relatively very proactive, responsive, and helpful.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I previously used Microsoft 365 and Adobe Acrobat Reader before IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson.
How was the initial setup?
For others looking into using IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson, I advise that the new device setup and deployment are fairly easy. However, getting off the ground with the initial setup is a bit tough and it needs to be easier to get going. Training a new device manager is not straightforward, as it requires too much tutorial to get someone proficient in changing, adding, and deleting devices. It can take considerable time learning all of those processes.
What was our ROI?
I have seen a return on investment with IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson. We were able to reduce our monthly bill for iPad data usage by well over 60% simply by limiting applications available to what was absolutely necessary to do their jobs. We have never had an iPad lost that could not be recovered. IBM Security MaaS360 has been a really helpful tool in our organization. We are also able to reassign iPads when we discovered our techs were not using them, as some techs preferred to use their company phones. These iPads are given to the new hires.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I purchased IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson through the AWS Marketplace .
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I evaluated other options such as Fulbe before choosing IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson.
What other advice do I have?
Integration with the operating system works great with IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson. I rate IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson an 8 out of 10 because this tool has been really cost-effective, especially since we were able to reduce our monthly bill for iPad data usage by well over 60% simply by limiting the application availability to what was absolutely necessary to do their jobs. We were also able to reassign iPads when we discovered techs were not using them, as some techs preferred to use their company phones, which makes it more cost-effective since we do not have to buy other new iPads for the new hires. I also appreciate that IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson allows deployment of new applications with minimal interaction with users. It also provides constant location information, and we know if an iPad is lost sometimes before the device user knows it is missing.

Unified device security has transformed mobile management and now protects data while boosting productivity
What is our primary use case?
IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson has enabled us to successfully enroll approximately 120 mobile devices on this platform. Initially, updating iOS on Apple devices posed a significant challenge. However, the new patch has addressed this issue. iOS updates are now promptly displayed in the MaaS360 portal, allowing for monitoring the update process and identifying subsequent required actions for devices.
I use IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson day-to-day to enroll bulk devices through the Device Enrollment Program (DEP) in a simple, straightforward, and quick manner. Multiple methods for device enrollment are available, including barcode scanning, email, and manual entry via the platform. Synchronization between Apple Business Manager (ABM) and the MaaS360 platform occurs swiftly. Additionally, app distribution and removal are efficiently managed on the platform.
I have more to add about my main use case for IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson, specifically for security dashboard and management, risk rule configuration, and security policies.
What is most valuable?
IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson offers several best features, including security, which helps protect sensitive data in case a device is lost or stolen. The customer support is exceptional. Seamless integration with other tools is also a key feature. It helps enhance security policies such as passcode requirements and encryption settings. Additionally, it enables us to manage a wide range of mobile devices including laptops and smartphones effectively.
The seamless integration with other tools has worked effectively because it has integrated with our IT stack and increased the security on all our devices. It has also enabled us to work on this tool very efficiently.
IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson has positively impacted our organization by improving our security posture through effectively managing and securing mobile devices, apps, and content. It has reduced the risk of data breaches, increased productivity and efficiency. It has streamlined the device management process, thereby saving a lot of time and cost.
I can share specific outcomes regarding time and cost savings. When this tool helps streamline the device management process, it reduces costs by 60 to 70%, while saving approximately 50% of our time. Since that time is saved, we are able to focus on more strategic tasks, and our productivity has increased by 60 to 70%.
Our security posture has improved by 80%, and we do not fear a risk of data breaches.
What needs improvement?
IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson could be improved in several areas. Although the integration was seamless, integrating this tool with existing IT infrastructure may require time and effort. Setting up and configuring IBM Security MaaS360 may require a learning curve, especially for non-technical users. Cost can also be a challenge, as this tool may come with a significant cost, particularly for organizations managing a large number of devices.
