Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for the security agent, and the rate matches the EC2 instance type you run it on. Each dimension maps to a specific instance size within families such as T2, T3, M5, C5, R5, and many others. Larger instances with more compute or memory carry higher hourly rates, while smaller ones cost less. You are billed only for the hours each instance runs, with no upfront commitment. Choose the instance type that fits your workload, and the software charge scales with that selection.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each hourly charge covers running the agent on one EC2 instance of the selected type. The instance type you launch, such as t3.large or m5.xlarge, sets the rate. Every running instance meters its own hours separately, so ten instances accrue ten instances' worth of charges.
The software charge meters running hours only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue hourly software charges. Stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage fees for their volumes, but those are separate from this agent's hourly rate.
The agent ships as a 1-Click Amazon Machine Image you launch on AWS. If you move the workload to a different instance type, the hourly software rate updates to match that new type automatically. You pay the rate tied to whichever instance is running.
