IBM Maximo has become an invaluable tool for managing our assets, tracking work orders, and streamlining maintenance operations, thus contributing to a more effective and organized workflow in my organization.
To manage assets, it helps us streamline maintenance operations and save time. It also offers better control over asset tracking and customization for smoother daily operations.
What is most valuable?
IBM Maximo is a very powerful and reliable asset management platform. I appreciate how IBM Maximo brings all assets, maintenance, and monitoring tools into one platform with a modern interface. This integration makes it much easier to track work, understand our asset health, and leverage data for improved decision-making.
The suite's ability to consolidate various functionalities into a singular cohesive solution greatly enhances its convenience and usability, making it a standout tool in my workflow.
The best features IBM Maximo offers are the integration of everything into one place, making management and operations smoother and more efficient through centralized management.
What needs improvement?
One area that I would love IBM Maximo to improve is the learning curve. It has a steep learning curve because the initial setup and configuration is somewhat complex, especially for teams without dedicated IBM Maximo specialists.

IBM Maximo is very stable. I would rate it nine out of ten.

We previously used SAP Enterprise Portfolio and Project Management tools.
I decided to switch from SAP to IBM Maximo because as a project manager, it has improved my project management by enabling me to manage and track my work sprint effectively. It has also automated most of our workflows, thus saving a lot of time.

My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing for IBM Maximo is that the cost is very cost-effective and affordable.

Before choosing IBM Maximo, I evaluated other options such as MaintainXÂ .
What other advice do I have?
I rate IBM Maximo nine out of ten because it has provided us with centralized asset management, helping us to automate our workflows and improve inventory management, thus reducing unplanned downtime and manual processes, saving a lot of time and cutting operational costs.
When I refer to centralized management, it is very easy to schedule maintenance, track asset health, and access all functionality under one roof. The usability has become so intuitive.

What do you like best about the product?
IBM Maximo Application Suite is very strong when it comes to asset tracking, preventive maintenance, and work order management. The interface is detailed and gives you complete visibility into equipment, maintenance tasks, and performance metrics. I also like that it integrates well with IoT sensors and automation tools, which helps in predicting failures before they happen. The reporting features and dashboards are also quite helpful for understanding asset health.
What do you dislike about the product?
Maximo is powerful, but the learning curve is definitely high. New users may find the interface overwhelming at first because there are so many modules and configuration options. Customization is possible, but sometimes requires technical knowledge or support from an experienced Maximo admin. Performance can also feel slow if your organization has a large database or many workflows.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our team uses Maximo to centralize all maintenance activities, asset histories, and service requests. This helps reduce downtime, improves preventive maintenance scheduling, and ensures we are following compliance requirements. The system has also helped us track spare parts inventory more accurately, which reduces costs and avoids delays in repairs.

The Openshift environment and the app points licensing model, while flexible, seem to come with a high cost, making budgeting for the software challenging. Additionally, the suite-level architecture can be cumbersome. I also notice that while some modules, like the management features, are robust and reliable, others, particularly those using AIML for predictive analytics, require very accurate data to function effectively and feel less automated than I expected. This inconsistency can lead to inefficiencies in work processes.
