Overview
This product provides PostgreSQL 16 integrated with Amazon Linux 2023 and delivered as an Amazon Machine Image (AMI) by ThinkCloud. The image includes a pre-configured, security-hardened relational database environment with PostgreSQL server, client tools, and monitoring configuration.
PostgreSQL 16 is an open source relational database known for reliability, data integrity, and extensibility. The release includes improvements to parallel query execution, logical replication, bulk COPY loading, SQL/JSON features, and monitoring through pg_stat_io.
The AMI includes PostgreSQL client and administration tools such as psql, pg_dump, and pg_restore, plus pg_stat_statements. Local connections use peer authentication by default, and SSH access uses key-pair authentication.
Marketplace software charges cover seller-performed software and operating-system integration, preparation of PostgreSQL server and monitoring configuration, application of the verified hardening baseline, repeatable image construction, and final AMI testing. Support and maintenance are supplementary services and are not the sole basis for the software charges.
