Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour for the CrafterCMS Enterprise Authoring system running on your chosen EC2 instance. The dimensions map to specific instance types, so your rate depends on the instance size and family you select. Options span general-purpose (t3, m5, m6, m5n, m5dn, m5zn, m5a, m6a, m6i) and compute-optimized (c5, c5a, c5n, c6a, c6i, c7a, c7i) families in xlarge, 2xlarge, and 4xlarge sizes. Larger sizes and newer families carry different hourly rates. You scale cost by matching instance capacity to your workload rather than picking feature tiers.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does the hourly rate cover, and what does it exclude?
The hourly rate covers the CrafterCMS Enterprise Authoring software running on your selected EC2 instance. You pay separately for the underlying AWS EC2 compute, storage, and network. The Authoring system handles content creation and in-context preview. The separate Delivery system, which serves content to end users, is billed separately.
Am I charged when the EC2 instance is stopped or paused?
Software charges accrue per running instance-hour. When you stop the instance, hourly software charges stop. You may still pay AWS for attached storage while the instance sits stopped, but the CrafterCMS software meter only counts running hours.
How do I move to a different instance type if my workload grows?
Each dimension maps to one EC2 instance type, so your rate follows the instance you run. To change capacity, you run the software on a different instance type and the matching hourly rate applies. There are no feature tiers to upgrade; you scale by matching instance size to workload.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
