This image is built from the official AlmaLinux 10.2 ISO with only the "Minimal Install" package group, resulting in an 8GB footprint compared to larger default installations. Key differences from standard community images:

Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for the AlmaLinux 10.2 ARM64 image, billed only while an instance runs. Each dimension maps to a specific ARM64 (Graviton) EC2 instance type, so your rate follows the instance you choose. Options span general-purpose, compute-optimized, memory-optimized, storage-optimized, and high-performance families, and range from small sizes up to metal instances. Larger instance sizes carry higher hourly rates because they provide more compute, memory, or storage. Software support from the vendor is included in the hourly rate, with no separate charge. Underlying AWS infrastructure fees are billed separately by AWS.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each dimension maps to one ARM64 (Graviton) EC2 instance running the AlmaLinux image. You pay for each hour that instance runs. The vendor meters running time. A stopped instance stops accruing software charges. Instance size determines the hourly rate, so smaller sizes cost less per hour than metal instances.
Software charges apply per running instance-hour. A fully stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software rate. AWS may still bill separately for attached storage while the instance is stopped. The vendor's software charge meters running time only, so idle, powered-off instances stop that portion of your cost.
Vendor software support is included in the hourly rate you pay, with no separate charge. The image also stays updated with security patches available at release. Underlying AWS infrastructure fees are billed separately by AWS. For image customization, you can contact the vendor directly by email.

To connect to the VM:
- Use SSH to connect
- Username provisioned inside is: 'ec2-user'
- Use the SSH key provided at the launch of the instance
- Run 'sudo su -' to get a root prompt
