Instance families span general-purpose, compute-optimized, memory-optimized, storage-optimized, and high-performance workloads. You are billed only for hours used, so total cost depends on how long each instance runs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each unit is one running ARM64 EC2 instance of the size you pick, billed per hour. The charge covers the Rocky Linux 10.2 image plus vendor support. Underlying AWS compute, storage, and network costs bill separately through AWS. One instance running for one hour equals one billed unit.
The hourly software charge meters running time only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue software fees. You are billed just for the hours the instance actively runs. Note that AWS may still charge for attached storage while the instance is stopped, separate from this listing.
Cost scales with the instance size you run. Larger sizes such as r8g.48xlarge or metal instances carry a higher hourly rate than smaller ones like t4g.nano. Switching sizes is a manual choice when you launch. You pay the rate of whichever size is running at the time.

To connect to the VM:
- Use SSH to connect
- Username provisioned inside is: 'rocky'
- Use the SSH key provided at the launch of the instance
- Run 'sudo su -' to get a root prompt
