This image is built from the official Rocky Linux 9.8 ISO with only the "Minimal Install" package group, resulting in an 8GB footprint compared to larger default installations. Key differences from standard community images:

Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for Rocky Linux 9.8 on ARM64, with vendor support included. Pricing is not tiered by feature. Instead, each dimension maps to a specific AWS ARM64 instance type, so your hourly rate follows the instance you choose. Options range from small sizes like t4g.nano and a1.medium up to large and bare-metal sizes such as r8gd.48xlarge and m9g.metal-48xl. Larger instances carry more compute and memory, so their hourly rates run higher. You only pay for the hours each instance runs, alongside standard AWS infrastructure charges.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each unit is one running ARM64 instance of that specific type, billed per hour. The rate covers the Rocky Linux 9.8 software and vendor support for that one instance. Running two instances of the same type bills two hourly units. Each instance type carries its own hourly rate.
The software charge meters running time only. A stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software fee. Underlying AWS storage for the volume may still apply while the instance is stopped. Charges resume when you start the instance again.
No separate charge applies for keeping the image updated. The vendor states its images are configured to receive updates at no additional cost. Images ship with the latest security updates available at release. You still pay the hourly software rate and standard AWS infrastructure charges.

To connect to the VM:
- Use SSH to connect

- Use the SSH key provided at the launch of the instance
- Run 'sudo su -' to get a root prompt
