This lightweight and secure Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.7 image is built from the official Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.7 ISO image, stripped down to include only the essential packages and required AWS software to make it integrate seamlessly into the AWS infrastructure (AWS CLI, Elastic Network Adapter & NVMe drivers). This results in a minimal image that is fast to boot, reduces storage requirements, and optimizes system responsiveness. The image is updated with the latest security patches and updates, providing protection against known vulnerabilities and ensuring the stability and reliability of your server environment. Also Red Hat Update Infrastructure is configured and ready to use without the need of a RedHat subscription or high costs of data traffic over the internet package installation and updates. Other features: key based authentication with 'ec2-user' username, cloud-init and SELinux enabled, root login disabled, automatic root disk resize based on the instance volume configuration. This image repackages free and open source software and all trademarks used inside are the property of their respective owners.

RHEL 9.7 (RedHat 9.7) for ARM with support by Rinne Labs
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour for this RHEL 9.7 ARM image, billed per running instance. Each dimension maps to a specific AWS ARM-based (Graviton) instance type, so your rate follows the instance you choose. Smaller instances like t4g.nano and a1.medium bill lower hourly rates than large or bare-metal types like r8gn.metal-48xl. Software charges are added on top of the underlying AWS infrastructure cost. Pricing scales with instance size and family, letting you match compute, memory, or storage needs. RHUI comes configured to keep the image updated at no extra charge.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hourly unit cover for each instance type?
One unit is one running RHEL 9.7 ARM instance for one hour, matched to the AWS Graviton instance type you launch. Each instance you run bills separately. The software rate stacks on top of the AWS compute charge for that instance.
Am I charged the software rate when my instance is stopped?
The hourly software charge meters running time only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue software charges. Stopped instances may still incur AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but those are separate from the software rate you see here.
Do I pay extra for operating system updates on these images?
No. RHUI is configured in the image to keep the running system updated at no extra charge. Your hourly software rate is the only per-instance software cost, added on top of the underlying AWS infrastructure fee.
