    An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

    The Pulsar standalone cluster is ideal for simplified single-node environments for local development, testing, and learning Pulsar fundamentals. Note that this environment is not intended for production. Use cases include experimenting with Pulsar features, building/testing your own apps with minimal set up before moving to a production cluster, using included test scripts to send and receive sample messages, and observe topic management and message flow in real-time.

    Usage instructions

    To access the EC2 instance after launch, connecting using SSH with the following username: ec2-user After logging in, Pulsar Standalone is already running as a systemd service and starts automatically on boot. You can verify it is running with: systemctl status pulsar-standalone-docker.service Pulsar is available on the following ports:

    • Broker: 6650
    • Admin/HTTP: 8080 The standalone configuration requires no additional setup and is ready for immediate use. You can use the provided test producer and consumer scripts located in /home/ec2-user/pulsar-test-scripts, or begin creating your own topics, producers, and consumers.
