You pay by the hour for the EC2 instance size you choose to run the RustDesk Server on Windows Server 2025 Datacenter. The dimensions are not tiers or feature levels. Each one maps to a specific AWS instance type across the t2, t3, t3a, m3, m4, m5, m5a, m5ad, m5d, m5dn, and m5n families. Larger instances offer more compute, memory, and networking, so your hourly rate scales with the size and family you select. You can start and stop usage as needed, paying only for hours the instance runs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one billing unit represent for this product?
One unit is one hour that a single EC2 instance runs the RustDesk Server on Windows Server 2025 Datacenter. You pick one instance type, such as t3.medium or m5.4xlarge, and pay per hour it stays running. The rate reflects that instance's compute, memory, and networking capacity.
Am I charged when the instance is stopped or powered off?
The hourly software charge applies only while the instance runs. When you stop the instance, the per-hour charge stops accruing. You may still pay separate AWS fees for attached storage while the instance is stopped, but the software meter counts running hours only.
Do I need extra ports or setup before the RustDesk Server works?
Yes. You must open TCP ports 21115 through 21119 in your security group's inbound rules for RustDesk to function. You also need the VM's IP address and a generated private key to connect. These setup steps do not affect your hourly billing.
