Bitmovin Observability for video playback is a comprehensive, fully managed solution that enables organizations to track and monitor viewer playback experiences in real time. It empowers engineering, product, and operations teams to quickly identify and debug issues, reduce time to resolution, and make data driven decisions that ensure a seamless streaming workflow.
With the Observability solution, teams can capture actionable telemetry from all Player instances to gain insight into viewer engagement, retention, and playback behavior. Dedicated dashboards across Audience, Quality of Experience (QoE), and Advertising help teams monitor performance, identify anomalies, and optimize playback to meet user expectations and business goals.
The audience view provides a complete picture of viewer behavior and usage patterns, including retention, geographic distribution, device utilization, and engagement signals. This enables teams to adapt content strategies, prioritize device support, and validate changes that impact playback adoption and experience.
The Quality of Experience (QoE) view focuses on playback health and performance. Teams can monitor key metrics such as video startup time, buffering and rebuffering behavior, playback failures, and error rates to quickly pinpoint where issues originate across content preparation, player configuration, delivery, or device environments.
The Advertising view enables teams to monitor ad playback performance and viewer impact, including impressions, ad quartiles, completion rates, and ad related errors. This supports faster troubleshooting of monetization issues while maintaining a consistent viewing experience.
Observability provides access to 200+ data dimensions and filters through the Bitmovin platform and API, enabling detailed analysis, segmentation, and root cause investigation when deeper visibility is required.
The Observability MCP server extends these capabilities by enabling natural language queries and guided workflows across observability data. This helps teams surface answers faster, streamline troubleshooting, and interact with playback data in a more intuitive way.
Additionally, teams can use the dedicated Amazon IVS integration to extend visibility into IVS based workflows and connect observability data with external platforms such as Grafana and Looker Studio.
