You pay by the hour for this MariaDB software running on Windows Server 2022. Pricing follows the EC2 instance size you pick, so the rate scales with compute capacity. The options span several instance families. The T3 and T3a families are burstable general-purpose sizes, from nano up to 2xlarge. The M5, M6a, M6i, M7a, and M7i families are general-purpose sizes for steady workloads. The C7a and C7i families are compute-focused sizes for heavier processing. Larger instances cost more per hour. Support runs 24/7. You are billed only for the hours you run.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one billing hour cover for a chosen instance size?
You are billed for each hour an instance runs the MariaDB software on Windows Server 2022. One unit equals one hour of one running EC2 instance of the size you select. The hourly rate reflects that instance's compute capacity. Larger sizes carry higher hourly rates.
Am I charged the software fee when my instance is stopped?
The software fee meters running hours only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue software charges. Note that underlying AWS storage for the stopped instance may still incur separate AWS fees. You control cost by stopping instances you are not using.
Does changing instance size change how I am billed?
Yes. The hourly rate is tied to the instance size you run. Moving to a size with more compute raises your hourly rate; moving to a smaller size lowers it. You can launch different sizes to match your workload and pay each one's hourly rate.
