You pay by the hour for the LimeSurvey software running on a Windows Server 2025 AMI. Pricing is not tiered by features. Instead, each dimension maps to a specific EC2 instance type, and your hourly rate depends on which instance you choose. Options range from small burstable instances (t2, t3, t3a families) for light workloads to larger general-purpose and compute-optimized instances (m6a, m7a, c7a, c8a families) with more CPU and memory. Larger instance sizes carry higher hourly rates. You run the same survey application regardless of instance choice; you select size to match your capacity needs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
The hourly rate covers the LimeSurvey software running on your chosen EC2 instance. You separately pay standard AWS charges for the instance and related resources, such as storage and an Elastic IP if you allocate one for web access. Both appear on your AWS bill.
The software rate meters running time by the hour. A fully stopped instance does not accrue software charges. You may still incur AWS storage fees while the instance is stopped, but the LimeSurvey software charge applies only while the instance runs.
You pick one instance dimension per running instance. Burstable t2, t3, and t3a families suit light or occasional survey traffic. General-purpose m6a and m7a families and compute-optimized c7a and c8a families offer more CPU and memory for heavier response volumes. The software is identical across all types.
