Primer Enterprise is a secure AI-powered knowledge discovery and analysis platform that helps organizations understand large volumes of complex, multi-source, unstructured data by transforming it into structured, explainable insight. The platform is used by financial institutions, retailers ranging from specialty brands to big-box chains, consulting firms, research organizations, scientific institutions, and think tanks to transform fragmented data (internal data, publicly available information, and commercially available information) into structured, actionable insight.
Teams can search, explore, visualize, and synthesize insights across internal and external data in a unified analytic environment designed for investigation and discovery, with every AI-generated insight traceable to the original source material. Primer orchestrates advanced natural language processing (NLP), fine-tuned Small Language Models (SLMs), Large Language Models (LLMs), AI-assisted analysis, advanced information retrieval systems, and dynamic visualizations to transform fragmented enterprise-scale data into structured, connected insight and context- surfacing entities, events, claims, narratives, and relationships for downstream analysis. Built-in enterprise-grade security and granular access controls ensure data is protected and governed according to organizational policies.
Organizations use Primer to monitor emerging risks, analyze market and narrative trends, investigate complex events, and synthesize insights across diverse data sources. The platform supports flexible deployment - including secure cloud, customer-hosted environments, and API integrations - allowing teams to embed AI-powered analysis directly into existing workflows and systems.

You pay by the hour for the running deployment size you choose. Two options are available: Primer Small and Primer Medium. Both bill on host hours (HostHrs), meaning you are charged for each hour the environment runs. The difference between them is deployment size, so you select the option that fits your workload and scale. Costs rise with the number of hours you run and grow further if you choose the larger deployment. This usage-based structure means you pay only for the time your chosen environment is active.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one host hour (HostHrs) actually measure for billing?
A host hour is one hour that your chosen deployment runs. You are charged for each hour the environment stays active, regardless of how many queries or documents you process. The count reflects running time only, so stopping the deployment stops the hourly software charges.
Am I charged when the deployment is stopped or idle?
Software charges apply per hour the environment runs. If you fully stop the deployment, hourly software charges stop accruing. Underlying AWS infrastructure fees, such as storage, may still apply while resources remain provisioned. The meter tracks active running time only.
What is the difference between Primer Small and Primer Medium beyond size?
Both bill by host hour and run the same platform capabilities, including search, entity extraction, and source-linked summaries. The difference is deployment size. Primer Medium provides a larger environment for heavier data volumes. You pick the option matching your workload; larger size means a higher hourly rate.
