IBM Instana offers great insights on application performance and even shows traffic between your services
What do you dislike about the product?
IBM Instana is a heavy suite that requires a lot of precautions and works best with Agents
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When an application is running poor there's often the urge to increase server resources, but often that's not the actual reason for the poor performance. Instana offers insights on the actual situation.

What do you like best about the product?
Instana helps my operations team to achieve a faster time from issue to resolution. It allows us to streamline the data gathering across our distributed services that we host for our clients.
What do you dislike about the product?
Instana lacks an out-of-the-box integration into config-management databases. This information can be added through the rollout process of agents tho, but you will have to do so on your own.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Instana helps us to gather intelligence of how well an application is performing instead of just focussing on general availability - basically everything in between "it works" and "it doesn't work".

What do you like best about the product?
I like IBM Instana's high quality and user-friendly feel. I find the integration very effective, and the cloud management tools easy to use. I also prefer the ease of customization.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find that too many options and too much customization can confuse the end goal, especially during configuration, implementation, and rolling out the final product. Some consolidation of services would be nice, and I think the interface could improve. Keeping it simple is easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use IBM Instana to help resolve identity and security system issues, and for customization and an easier environment for managing our data.
