You deploy this software at no license cost, paying only for the AWS EC2 compute you run it on. Pricing is billed hourly and scales by the instance type you choose. The options fall into three families: t3 sizes for general-purpose workloads, c3 and c5 sizes for compute-focused workloads. Within each family, larger sizes carry more CPU and memory and cost more per hour. You match the instance to your team size and conversation volume. There is no per-agent or per-conversation charge from the vendor; your bill reflects the running hours of your chosen instance.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Am I charged when my instance is stopped or paused?
Software billing meters running instance-hours. Fully stopped instances stop accruing hourly charges. Stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but the hourly compute charge only applies while the instance runs.
What does one billing hour cover on these instance types?
Each hour covers one running EC2 instance of the size you select. The instance type sets the CPU and memory. For production, the vendor recommends 4 or more CPU cores and 8 to 16 GB RAM, so choose a size that meets those specs.
Does deploying this way add any per-agent or per-conversation vendor charge?
No. Self-hosted deployment carries no per-agent pricing. You pay only for the AWS infrastructure hours of your chosen instance. Your bill scales with the instance size and running time, not with team size or conversation volume.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
