It doesn't support new instance types!
Great operating system, works perfectly on AWS but... too bad you can't choose the new t2 and m4 instance types!
@Canonical, can you please update the AMI metadata to add them?

This OS is very useful.
I always use this OS version for my valuable service.
This version, Ubuntu Server 12.04 LTS is very stable and tunned for my service architecture.

Review Instance Capability Before Installing
We planned to use 12.04 as this is the version we were using on our internal server. The instance installed properly but then we realized that only Micro and Small instances were available so we are moving to 14.04.

The availability and security for Ubuntu Server
The security for the server is good. It is easy enough to install and configure the sever. In addition, the stability of the host server also performed well.
Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
As you would expect the server software is excellent.
This is the first instance that I have created with AWS and overall very impressed with how simple it has been.
I added the standard Ubuntu LAMP stack and also the FOSS version of Zimbra mail server.
I initially tried to run this on a micro instance but Zimbra took up too many resources (memory) so I have upgraded this to a medium instance.
So far so good and it's all running beautifully.
Thanks to AWS and of course to Canonical for making this process so easy.

Ubuntu is awesome even using a micro ec2 instance. Note you need to login as user ubuntu and then su to root.
Works perfectly out of the box
Image worked exactly as you would want. Had my installation running in literally minutes with users and configuration all set as I required.
I will be using this image for all my future projects!

This product works fine. I haven't found any problem, until now, working with this environment (I'm in a early phase and I haven't tested performance).

Great product. Works as expected. I have not had any problems with my instance since launching it 3 months ago. Uptime nearly 90 days now.
