How exactly were you hacked? Generally being hacked is a flaw in how _you_ set up your instance and would have very little to do with the software (MediaWiki) or hosting (AWS) On top of that, If you lost 6 months of data that implies you weren't running any backups of your MediaWiki. If your Data doesn't exist in (at least) two places you shouldn't consider it to exist at all.

Sorry to hear your experience did not go well. Bitnami takes security seriously, our deployments are secured by default and this is one of the key value propositions of Bitnami solutions. If a plugin or theme from insecure sources was installed after the deployment of the solution, that will probably cause those security issues you are referring to. We suggest you use secure sources to get the plugins/themes from and follow the official documentation to install them. We also suggest you keep the deployment up-to-date and check for new updates of the Bitnami solution regularly. For times when you need additional support, we provide support from our engineers in our Community forum (https://community.bitnami.com/). We would appreciate if you could open a thread referencing this review at our community forum, to allow our team to review the issues you encountered and improve our documentation and application based on your feedback. Thanks!
