Has worked reliably for us for many years.
What do you like best about the product?
Flexibility. Has many customizable options. Using stream targets between applications has been handy. We've used it reliably for many years.
What do you dislike about the product?
Initial configuration with GPU acceleration for transcoding has been problematic.
Also wish there was a way to quickly see which applications are active and also be able to terminate a stream that has accidentally be left running w/out needing to change PW on the app.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a live streaming provider, it's perhaps our most vital application coupled with a good CDN.

Wowza review
What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to set up and use but allows a wide range of customization.
There are plenty of Java plugins for Wowza, and it is quite easy to write your own.
Other systems can easily integrate with Wowza.
It is market standard so it is tested on many devices and problems with streaming even strange ones are rare and rather easily solvable.

What do you dislike about the product?
Wowza does not support new streaming technology like AV1.
It does not fully support subtitles for live channels (doable, but requires quite a work and not standard solutions)
Tickets created by support are not visible to the client, so we often report something and have to check if it is implemented in the new version, without proper information from the Wowza team.

Great web streaming solution with a few missing features
What do you like best about the product?
Wowza is great for streaming and offers many services for transmission of audio and video. The quality looks great and it was very easy for my client to embed on their website. Great back end with data.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's no backup RTMP or failover if your primary stream goes down.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easily embeddable streaming solution that can be white labeled.
Wowza is a simple, inexpensive way to stream to multiple online platforms with minimal effort.
What do you like best about the product?
Wowza has a fairly simple setup for the stream and stream targets. The transcoding options are fairly priced and give us multiple stream resolution options from our incomeoing 1080p stream. We stream to Wowza and Wowza outputs to our Facebook, YouTube, Vimeo, Rumble, Church Online Platform (2 transcoded resolutions) and and an audio only Phone streaming platform.
We use Wowza 3 times a week presently but in the past we were streaming up to 6 times a week. Wowza's feature set is great for the lower monthly fee options they offer. Once you setup your multiple streaming targets, you can decide if it's full (passthrough) resolution or transcoded down to lower resolutions. They offer video storage, VOD and OTT features we aren't utilizing presently, but they're there if you need them. The few times we've had questions our support emails have been replied to in a timely manner.
Wowza is a straight forward, solid, reliable system for simple to complex streaming needs.

What do you dislike about the product?
Wowza just updated their user interface and as they simplified some of the steps for setup, it seems they may have removed some of the target editing options they used to have. I need to investigate further... But I know they listen to user feedback and if there's something that is needed they'll find a way to make it happen.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Wowza allows us to stream 1 x 1080p stream from our site to their cloud.wowza streaming. They seemlessly provide the stream output to multiple platforms, with multiple transcoded resolutions as needed.
Overall positive experience with Wowza Streaming Engine.
What do you like best about the product?
Reliable streaming engine with smooth performance, customizable options, and excellent scalability for live and on-demand streaming.
What do you dislike about the product?
Interface not user friendly, initial setup is complex for beginners.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Wowza Streaming Engine solves the challenge of delivering high-quality, low-latency video streams to a global audience.
Good for Internet / lacks support for legacy systems
What do you like best about the product?
Works well with internet codecs, I like the multiplatformity, quite stable for long run.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lacking legacy codecs (MPEG1 audio, MPEG2, H.264 CBR). Config thru XML is somehow complex. Java has some limitation on Windows servers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
provides access to my media files thru "streaming" (mostly thru HLS)
It was nice
What do you like best about the product?
The transcoders for any camera to get your format
What do you dislike about the product?
The support is not real time, you have to wait and there is no chatting
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Get the stream from h265 camera video encode and transfer it to h264 to use in webrtc
Satisfied with the service but there are areas for improvement.
What do you like best about the product?
One of the things I liked about Wowza Straming Engine, was that it was easy to install, easy to update and relatively easy to add the streaming links that we wanted.
What do you dislike about the product?
At the beginning it was the customer service, because it took various days to recieve a reply, but the last few incidents we had the response time was at adequate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
At tthe moment we are using the software to live stream various CCTV's that we have on our network for users outside our organization.
Versatile Codec Support for Diverse Content
What do you like best about the product?
Wowza's support for a wide range of codecs and formats is a huge plus. It takes the headache out of transcoding and ensures that my content is accessible to a diverse audience without compatibility issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
I've encountered occasional compatibility issues with certain devices and browsers when using Wowza. Ensuring seamless playback across all platforms and devices can sometimes require extra troubleshooting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Wowza's robust codec and format support solve the headache of compatibility issues that I've faced in the past. However, it's true that occasionally, I encounter challenges with certain devices and browsers. Despite this, the troubleshooting efforts required are outweighed by the seamless playback experience it offers once everything is set up correctly. It's a small trade-off for the broader benefits.
