What do you like best about the product?
Jaspersoft is a great tool for making reports and dashboards. It's easy to design reports using its drag-and-drop tool, and it supports many file formats like PDF and Excel. I liked how well it works with Java applications and different databases. it is very helpful for creating reports quickly and sharing them with others.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jaspersoft is powerful, but it can be hard to learn at first. Sometimes performance is slow with large data, and fixing errors isn't always easy
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
it helps us create and deliver custom reports and dashboards directly from our applications. It solves the problem of manually generating reports by automating report creation, scheduling, and exporting in formats like PDF or Excel

What do you like best about the product?
The customization to reports based on different needs via filters is a big win. Dynamic report generation is one of the heavily used functionality and works really well. iReports plays a key role in creating or customizing the report. Overall it's superfast and easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Customization of a report templated for multiple functionalities is little difficult in dynamic reports.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Getting reports generated for daily schedules for nurses and physicians, managing their payroll reports, attendance reports are some of the key functionalities. We are using lot more than that which includes roster generation, weekly/monthly work reports, holiday reports, etc.

1. The report fails to open, especially when there is a larger number of records. Additionally, the scheduled emails occasionally fail to be sent.
2. Even when attempting to export the report in PDF or XLSX formats, the process takes several hours to complete.
3. At times, we are unable to notice when a folder is dragged to a different location. In such cases, no confirmation popup is displayed.

Reliable product for reporting
What do you like best about the product?
I use Jasper Server to produce reports from my web application.
It's a reliable product and it offers lots of possibility, DB connections and debugging options.

Robust Reporting and Visualization with Room for Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
I liked the Data Visualization and Reporting, especially the use of HTML5 charts. We had the requirement for Heatmaps, which got achieved with the inclusion of table elements and dynamic reports. The setup was quite easy, and regular responses from the support portal helped a lot.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be helpful if we had more ways to explore, we could expose the Dashboards out of the JRS along with the filters of that particular Dashboards. Also, currently, we do not have the second level drill for a dashboard, it would be good if we have that feature for the dashboard.

I use Jaspersoft to generate reports for understanding market trends and create dashboards as per client requirements. It provides powerful data visualization with HTML5 charts and heatmaps, allowing for dynamic reports and interactive filters.

One of the major pain points I’ve encountered is report execution performance. For large datasets — for example, reports with 10 million records — execution can take an entire day, and sometimes, the process even fails or crashes despite running on high-spec servers. This becomes a serious bottleneck for time-sensitive analytics or high-volume reporting environments. The same applies to ad hoc dashboards, as well as integration via visualize.js or directly use in reports, which heavily impacts performance.
In addition, many features that customers commonly request are not available out of the box. We’ve had to implement custom workarounds or external tools to meet what should be standard requirements, such as enhanced visual interactivity or user-friendly filtering.
The learning curve is steep, particularly in Jaspersoft Studio. While it's powerful, it’s not intuitive for new users, and report creation often feels overly technical.
