OpenVPN AWS Subscription - I need the 10 Connected Devices License

  • By Smiles

Trying to fire up and VPN for a client and I followed the normal way via Market place until I fired up my instance, however the instance shows 2 user license.

What am I supposed to do to get the 10 connected devices license.

OpenVPN Access Server (10 Connected Devices) - Shows under Manage Subscriptions.
But I don't see anything after that.

I don't want to kill my instance and try again, because I have customized a lot of things already and my client is live on there.

Hi, sorry you are experiencing difficulties. The most likely explanation here is that you are using a security group on this instance that is blocking access to the licensing servers. You can troubleshoot here: https://openvpn.net/vpn-server-resources/troubleshooting-problems-with-software-licensing/#Licensing_problems_with_Amazon_AWS_tiered_instances If you are still experiencing issues after you follow those instructions, please open a support ticket and we’ll be happy to help. You are better off buying your 10-user annual license (<$200) directly from OpenVPN. It’s much cheaper than running the 10c/hr rate (>800/yr). Plug the key into the web UI and you are good to go.
