Experienced Advanced Analytics Platform with a touch of AI and ML
What do you like best about the product?
Teradata vantage is a very good & advanced tool for making analytics reports & refining data from data warehouse,lakes & repositories. It is a highly scalable & securable solution that integrates wide range of technologies & one can experience advanced analytics with a blend of AI,ML & other business intelligence & data visualization tools. What I liked the most are its flexibility feature we can deploy it in any mode whether it's on premises , on cloud or even in hybrid mode. I use this tool frequently to make data analysis more understanding & demanding in today's business scenarios.
What do you dislike about the product?
Its not so ease Implementing & maintenance cost is quite high according to some SMEs or not so big organisations. Also it is a difficult to manage due to its technical complexities and one may can experience struggle while leveraging this tool. Its lock in feature also made it less used tool in small & medium enterprises. High need of resources for running workloads over this analytical tool is also we can considered as a negative point.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Teradata helps in maintaing scalability & its flexible deployment in all mode make it easy to understand.Its Advanced analytics capacity to refine data from warehouse or any other repositories without making much efforts are quite impressive. With the use of this tool now I'm able to integrate comprehensive data from multiple data sources. It also helps in data optimization & hence improving & solving Big data analytics & complex queries. It directly contributes in driving business innovation.

The simplicity to Operate both on teradata and Cloud production.

We are thinking that Vantage will solve our some of our IT issues which we are facing today and also we are planning to implement some of our own ideas to make things easier with our environments for usage between Cloud resources and Teradata DB.

I personally liked the concept of semantic mapping a lot where you can establish the relation between two different columns and create a model and SQL based on that.

Nothing that I can think of, at this point.

The fact that we can scale up the compute usage any time we want is really benefitting us. This has been really helpful during busier times.

The way "vantage units" is calculated is not exactly easy to understand and kind of giver a sensation that of a blackbox.

Best in class SQL optimizer with a proven history for running critical analytics for our company. TASM workload management is unmatched in the industry and provides consistent results for customer analytics and critical data movement jobs.

Would like to see better intergation and partnership with Microsoft Azure

Teradata Vantage allows are company to run a hybrid environment - on premise and multicloud.

What do you like best about the product?
Its ability to do parallel processing for large data sets. Support from teradata reps has been great.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would be nice if it had native programatic language like Microsoft TSQL. The ability to do while loops, variables etc outside of functions and stored procedures.

Large scale analytics. Customer journey analytics with npath and other vantage(clearscape) functions.
