Best RDBMS
What do you like best about the product?
Teradata Database is used widely many retail/banking organization. It serves as the data warehouse. It addresses many problems related to large amounts of data.
What do you dislike about the product?
Its not recommended for OLAP operations. Update operations are costly in teradata.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using for building many semantic tables for customer analysis.

What do you like best about the product?
The performance is really good. The response times are low without taking too much of CPU time
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the application that i use hangs. Not sure if its the application or the dbms.

We generate sales and inventory reports for a retailer and taking business decisions on it. The data is always accurate with very low margin of error.

This is a great database for huge and big data and good support.

I think it should improve on parallellism.

What do you like best about the product?
I also like the query history b/c during data analysis, you run a ton of queries and don't yet know which ones are meaningful enough to actually save. I like the community support - when i can't remember syntax - google has the answer.
What do you dislike about the product?
TD has a descent console.not as user friendly as SQL server but i don't have specifics off the top of my head.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
i am a data visualization developer. Tools like terdata and SQL server are imperative to visualizing data. It's helpful to aggregate data for faster data loads. It's great for data analysis.

What do you like best about the product?
The integration of both platforms, the Teradata database many companies know about it, together with the Aster analytics capabilities, makes a great software for companies that want to be in the next level of information platforms
What do you dislike about the product?
I think there are some few steps to achieve in order to have a complete integration: the data scientists that I work with found some issues in one of the functions they use to analyze data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
If the company have already the Teradata database, by getting this software will find good integration and start doing big data projects that can deliver services for their current processes or create other ways of making advantages of the data they have.

What do you like best about the product?
The sql assistant in this web edition is absolutely classy and helps us to keep track of the historical queries and also modify the data at once without having to lookup the old ones and also give insights on data analytics ,transaction processing and hybrid cloud services at once
What do you dislike about the product?
Some syntaxes are more different than normal and conventional SQL and need expertise as we cannot skew the database to industrial needs and correlations are quite outdated
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As in the banking and automotive field we would prefer data analytics OLTP/OLAP data warehouse architecture oriented database and this solves the needs pretty much most of the times

It is high performance database management tool, quickly retrieve data for complex query and not expensive. On top of it, it has multiple other functionalities too like query builder support, in memory optimization and it can also work with various Etl tools.

There is nothing to dislike about this product.

I have used it with etl tool to extract data for my business It works in very secure, fast and efficient way.

Teradata is a comprehensive tool for server query analysis. The graphics are excellent and appealing.

The interface is not the most user-friendly. The command prompts are not easy to locate for a first-time user

Up and running in under an hour...
...just as promised by Teradata CTO Stephen Brobst. Woo-hoo!!!By using mostly default settings you should be up and running without too much trouble. You will have to choose/provide the following:>- AWS region - number of nodes required (1-32) - system name & DBC password - EC2 instance type & storage It will be necessary to configure a separate ETL server (EC2 instance) running Teradata Tools Utilities (TTU) so you can run things like TPT, Arc, Fastload, BTEQ etc. Desktop access is straightforward via Visual Studio or SQL Assistant ('Queryman'). This is v15.1 of Teradata's Enterprise edition which contains good stuff like TASM, columnar & temporal. The ability to perform backup/restore via S3 is a great benefit. A big 'well done' to Teradata and Amazon :-)
