Solid choice for VPN server
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use and set up for required VPN connections to private subnets. MFA and user permissions were easy to set up and use. VPN profiles and the VPN client were easy to set up and use.
What do you dislike about the product?
User management outside of SSO is cumbersome. Making changes also sometimes didn't stick and had to refresh the page and reapply the changes a multiple times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Secure private access to private subnet for remote workers to not expose production or devops servers to public.

Very pleasant, easy, intutive
What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate how easy and intuitive OpenVPN Access Server is to set up and manage. The user-friendly interface makes it simple to configure VPN connections, and the security features are robust, ensuring a safe and reliable connection. I also love the flexibility it offers, supporting various devices and platforms, which is great for both personal and business use. Overall, it's an excellent solution for secure remote access.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dont't have any things in mind at the moment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Secure remote access
Excellent, easy to manage remote access VPN solution
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to implement, excellent device compatibility, extremely reliable
What do you dislike about the product?
A little on the expensive side. Support is not super helpful in my experience. You need to reset MFA tokens for users from the CLI which is clunky
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In my experience it is the easiest way to implement MFA for remote access. Also for my clients with limited remote access VPN functionality this is easy to sell and implement
Effective and Seamless
What do you like best about the product?
Once it is set up, it's super easy to use, seamless, almost invisible yet effective. The customer support is excelllent.
What do you dislike about the product?
Really nothing to dislike. As for most services, direct customer support is slightly hidden as they "encourage" the user to make use of docs, faqa, and automated assistants. But once you do get to customer support it is outstanding.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Serves nicely as a VPN.
Great tool for day-to-day use
What do you like best about the product?
It allows us to add an extra layer of security to all our operations.
What do you dislike about the product?
I believe that user management could be improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us to establish a basic level of security for all our equipment, with minimal maintenance.
Modern VPN Solution that supports 365 SAML and MFA
What do you like best about the product?
I wanted to avoid using RADIUS for authentication and this ticked all the boxes so I can setup authentication through 365 SSO and MFA.
It works well and their support has been pretty helpful in my experience.
OpenVPN Connect works great for Windows and macOS

OpenVPN Connect works great for Windows and macOS
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish they had a GUI client for Linux. Currently you have to use OpenVPN3 cli. Network Manager doesn't support the pop up windows for SAML authentication.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solved the problem of needing MFA and integration authentication with 365/Entra ID. This allows us to not need another on-prem server just to handle VPN authentication.
OpenVPN Access Server Has Been Solid For Us For 10 Years
What do you like best about the product?
For my team and I, OpenVPN Access Server has been part of our infrastructure for the last 10 years. When we first had a need for a reliable, day to day VPN, we researched and spoke with others in our field looking for recommendations. Unanimously most of the people we spoke with recommended OpenVPN. We were tasked with setting it up for a team of about 15 people and found it easy to roll it out even to those in other physical locations with simple to follow instructions. We integrated it for our entire team in less than 24 hours. We consulted with their customer support on a few questions during the initial setup and they were extremely helpful in ensuring a smooth transition from our old VPN server. Our team uses OpenVPN daily with some of us staying connected 24x7. We found that the feature set was more than enough for us as we only use the typical features that most would. With that said we have the flexibility to use more advanced features if we should need them in the future. When it comes time to renew our licensing, it's as simple as copy and pasting the new licenses code. There's no need for a restart or anything that would compromise our connectivity. We have been extremely happy in the 10 years that we have been using OpenVPN Access Server.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing that has been a challenge for us over the years is that the licensing model has changed. Even with that change, we were willing to pay a little bit more knowing that the OpenVPN Access Server has worked extremely well for us over the last 10 years. After speaking with their team, they helped us through choosing the right model for oour needs and ever since then we just pay the renewal fees, update our license key, and move on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our OpenVPN Server has allowed us to connect our US and internationl teams to the same resources with an easy to use lightweight client. In some cases the international team has slower than normal internet access and even with that the OpenVPN client works well and keeps them connected. A lot of time we are pushing large amounts of code and data from slower connections and the VPN always holds up for us.
OpenVPN Review
What do you like best about the product?
It is secure, fast and easy to setup and work with. The support is excellent and fast. We use it on daily basis for our local staff and vendors. Alot of features are very helpful to our staff and it is easy to integrate with our local IAM solution. We hve implemented it in one day
What do you dislike about the product?
In Saudi Arabia, OpenVPN site is blocked by Internet provider. This makes it difficult to pay online for the subscription.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All our local admin staff and vendors are using OpenVPN on daily basis to support our current apps.
Solid, reliable platform with good self service setup for users.
What do you like best about the product?
The platform is great for mobile devices in particular. It's easy to build, configure and manage for a standalone or cluster build. It scales well for user concurrency without requiring heavily resourced servers.
The prebuild AWS instances are very convenient, and the support documenation is excellent.
The prebuild AWS instances are very convenient, and the support documenation is excellent.
What do you dislike about the product?
Integration options for enterprise features like posture assessment are weak compared to solutions integrated to enterprise firewalls.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cloud based automation, QA and remote vendor teams accessing internet facing dev, test and preprod environments. The platform is lightweight enough for qa teams to support remote users accessing limited environments, in particular while performing mobile device testing.
Affordable, Reliable, Secure Access
What do you like best about the product?
OpenVPN of course is founded on OpenSource. Which means the VPN is mutli-platform and easily compatible and maintainable among many endpoints. SAML integration is great, and provides our required secured access. Its a simple streamlined VPN product.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have honestly never had any issues aside from the occasional security flaw we need to patch, but that is not unique to OpenVPN.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Secure Access to controlled environments, across unique network segments.
