Everything worked as expected
It is a ready made product which works like Just like that, Just run the Instance, Download Client software, Enter public IP, Virtual host as "VPN" and password is Instance ID.
Also you can configure the Server using the "Soft Ether-VPN Server Manager (Tools)" which is available in Softether website
It's easy setup and use. But I have a question.
I have a question, I started an ec2 instance by using AMI: SoftEther L2TP/IPsec VPN server-e9ae5f84-4950-4428-b2fb-a9b81cde6337-ami-9a94508c.4.
What is linux login user name? I use Key-Pair.
Super Easy
Follow the setup guide, download the management client here and everything just worked out of the box even you don't change 1 setting.

Works perfectly
Once installed, make sure network ports are all open, use Softether server manager to connect to your server IP....password will be cid. Actually works straight out of the box. Much better than other solutions. Can even connect directly using linksys gui, no need ddwrt or openwrt.
Error 789
I can use ssh to login the ec2 instance after installation. But both my Windows 7 and Windows 10 got Error 789 when using L2TP connection. I opened UDP 500, 4500, TCP 1701, 443 ports in the security group, not working. Restarted Windows IKE and IPset services, not working. I tried Android tablet, not working.
Finally, I checked the ec2 server, there was no /root/vpnserver or /usr/local/vpnserver/ as stated in the documentation. How can I know whether the server has been set up successfully?
