So much better than traditional SES sending

I use Sendy (https://sendy.co) to send a newsletter (3x/week to 25,000 subscirbers) through SES. The problem was my SES IP address (which I of course have no control over) is consistently in a SPAM blacklist (frequently, this is SPAM cannibal).

I reached out to Amazon, and they said that it would cost me $75 a month, to get on my own IP address (of course on top of my sending costs). They said that with this, I could control my own IP addresses sending reputation, and that if I send good, non-spam emails (which I do), I wouldn't get blacklisted.

I was considering it, until I found SendGrid's integration. I pay $10 a month for everything, and have a great IP reputation + won't be in any SPAM blacklists. So glad I found this.

Your comment doesn't add up - sendgrid doesn't give any option for sending 25,000 emails 3x a week (that is around 12x a times a month, which is 12 x 25,000 = 300,000 emails) for $10 a month. Even if you over-estimated how many your sending, and it is 200,000 emails, hell even 100,000 emails - sendgrid won't even do 1/3 of your claim for $10. I have been using Sendgrid for almost 2 years, and as my marketing DB grew, so have my costs - until it exceeded $400 per month from Sendgrid for a very similar amount of emails that you describe. HOW are you getting it for $10 ? there is no pricing tier in sendgrid for $10 with anywhere near that many emails-out nor subscriber list size! So I moved to Amazon SES specifically for the hugely cheaper sending options. I wrote my own email/newsletter/database/campaign handling system, as i don't want to rely on any more SaaS 3rd parties. It's only been a couple of weeks, but it's going great and cost me around $8 so far for the same thing i was using sendgrid for: so that kills sendgrid handsdown being orders of magnitude cheaper. I haven't had any blacklist/reputation issues - possibly that is because of sendy.co ? (never used or seen that service, but if it is an aggregate of many peoples usage, possibly other users of Sendy are spammers and hence you are getting tarnished with the same brush)

Hi Kyle, Thanks for sharing that info. It will be quite interesting to know which plan you are in. Could you please share that.
