Analytics functions and query time are good

What do you like best about the product?
Its performance, scalability, integration, easy integration with big data environment. Vertica is capable to support streaming data and able to ingest data stream at low latency.
What do you dislike about the product?
Its data size limitation, pricing is high with large data size.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Able to ingest high volume/streamed Call Detail Record(CDR), in telecom domain.

Vertica a columnar database is excellent db for certain use cases.
vertica is fast and supports SQL reducing learning curve
What do you like best about the product?
Column db structure is ideal for reporting. Its distributed architecture helps scale seemlessly which makes it ideal for handling large data. Projections are very useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Vertica has its own version of SQL in addition to standard SQL which makes it hard to write optimized queries. Its expensive.There is hardly any downtime.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a vertica cluster installed on 64 GB ram systems to query large data (100GB incremental per day) in two different regions of the world- one in USA and other in Europe. Our clients are mostly querying round the clock. One person monitors and maintains the cluster.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want to build a datawarehouse or want to build adhoc queries for large data, Vertica is a good choice. We have tried other RDBMs and finally settled down with Vertica.
Vertica is good as analytics storage, but open-source Clickhouse took its place on the market

That it works out of the box and goes with cluster support & management tools
What do you dislike about the product?
It's price. It's too expensive. And Clickhouse works faster right now for the same purposes

Classical OLAP data storage. The projections concept was pretty nice. Management tools as well

There are following thing i like about vertica

bit complex to learn, there are too many new concept as compare to traditional RDBMS

We are using vertica for implementing OLAP data warehousing system, I love Flex table feature of vertica
Experience to worked with vertica cluster database and administration with the glassbeam product.

I like this product due to simplicity but powerful and easily scalable features in it

At that time 2010 when worked for Glassbeam product what was my observation is very less technical support and not very well GUI interface which actually not help to managing all the nodes .

Used for storage realtime analytics data with very high volumn

Superb database
Vertica Database is Easy to understand AS RDBMS
What do you like best about the product?
Since it is columnar database, its different from RDBMS and its saving data as column fashion, so while reading data instead of reading row, it will read column and it will be faster while giving less IO on Disk
What do you dislike about the product?
lack of HIgh concurrency, Vertica can improve in with its concurrency transaction.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
since its transaction happen in memory, its way faster than RDBMS DB.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Since Vertica is the in memory columnar Database, read transaction for milion data fetch will be faster than Other RDBMS DB, mostly people will use this DB for productbase business.

Performance and data reliability along with ease of architecture

while using on premise, extending or limiting to size and maintaining cleanups was bit hectic
